Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Anger Machining SK800TR that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Anger Machining SK800TR is a 5-axis gantry machining center with direct drives on both swivel axes and a table rated for 1,300 kg (2,866 lb). Travels are 800 mm (31.5 in) in X, 830 mm (32.7 in) in Y and 560 mm (22.0 in) in Z, for parts up to ø900x500 mm on a ø800 mm table.
Two things separate it from the similar-sized GT-800E. The first is stiffness for hard materials: a closed U-frame gantry, an A-axis mounted on both sides, and a choice of HSK63A or HSK100A spindles, where the GT-800E uses BBT-40 and carries 800 kg. The second is stated accuracy. The table gives 0.008 mm positioning accuracy and 0.005 mm repeatability on X/Y/Z as per VDI 3441.
Spindles span 12,000 - 24,000 rpm and 20-60/24-76 kW (S1/S6-60%), and a footnote says 7 spindle variants are available. Tooling depends on the interface. With HSK63 the magazine holds 32 tools, or 64, of up to 300 mm and 8 kg; with HSK100 it holds 24, or 60, of up to 350 mm and 15 kg.
The C-axis of this version turns at 70 rpm, a positioning and contouring speed. Turning operations are the role of the SK800T, whose C-axis reaches 1,000 rpm. One figure needs planning around: chip-to-chip time is 26 s, so tool changes should be few and cuts long, which suits long roughing and finishing passes on blisks and housings. The machine weighs 15,500 kg (34,171 lb) and needs 80 kVA.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Table load of 1,300 kg (2,866 lb) on a ø800 mm table
- Direct drive motors on the A and C axes in a symmetrical double arrangement
- Positioning accuracy of 0.008 mm and repeatability of 0.005 mm as per VDI 3441
- HSK63A or HSK100A interface, with 7 spindle variants available
- Spindle power range of 20-60/24-76 kW (S1/S6-60%)
- Closed U-frame gantry with all linear axes at the centre of gravity
Limitations
- Chip-to-chip time is 26 s at 1,800 rpm
- Acceleration of 4/4/4 m/s² is the lowest among Anger's gantry machines
- Large footprint of 6,826/5,125/3,509 mm (L/W/H)
- C-axis speed of 70 rpm; turning requires the SK800T

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The rotary axis and the tool interface. The SK800TR has a C-axis speed of 70 rpm and HSK63A or HSK100A tool holders. The SK800T has a C-axis speed of 1,000 rpm for turning operations and HSK63T or HSK100T tool holders. Travels, table, load and footprint are identical.
02
The table states a positioning accuracy of 0.008 mm and a repeatability of 0.005 mm for X/Y/Z as per VDI 3441. Anger attributes path accuracy to the centre-of-gravity arrangement of the linear axes and to backlash-free direct drives on the A/C axes.
03
That depends on the interface. The table lists 32 tools with 64 as the bracketed figure for HSK63, and 24 tools with 60 as the bracketed figure for HSK100. HSK63 tools may be 300 mm long and 8 kg; HSK100 tools 350 mm and 15 kg. Chip-to-chip time is 26 s.
04
The table gives ranges of 12,000 - 24,000 rpm and 20-60/24-76 kW as S1/S6-60% ratings, and a footnote states that 7 spindle variants are available. The torque row for this column is misprinted in the datasheet, so ask Anger for the torque of each variant.
05
Dimensions are 6,826/5,125/3,509 mm (L/W/H) and the weight is 15,500 kg (34,171 lb). Electrical supply is 3x380 V with 80 kVA of total connected power. Siemens and Heidenhain controls are listed, and lubrication is given as KSS.
