Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Anger Machining HS700 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Anger Machining HS700 is the small member of the HS series of horizontal 5-axis machining centers: 710 mm (28.0 in) of X travel, 910 mm (35.8 in) of Y and 810 mm (31.9 in) of Z around a ø650 mm table that carries up to 350 kg (772 lb). Anger designs the series for simultaneous 5-axis work on aerospace parts, and lists blisks, impellers and engine housings among the typical workpieces.
The largest part the datasheet allows is ø700/630 mm, so this is the HS for the engine-component end of that list, not for wing ribs or structural frames. Those belong on the HS1400, whose X travel is 1,800 mm and whose table load is 2,000 kg. What the HS700 gives in return is speed: rapids of 60/60/60 m/min against 50/50/50 m/min on the HS1400, in a machine that weighs 14,000 kg instead of 35,000 kg.
Spindle choice is wide. The table gives 12,000 - 24,000 rpm, 20-60/24-76 kW and 45.5-200/55-302 Nm (S1/S6-60%) as ranges across the available spindles, with HSK63A as the tool holder and HSK100A in brackets. Anger says speeds up to 24,000 rpm are offered for aluminium and for tool and mould work, while the high-torque spindles are meant for nickel and titanium alloys. Which spindle is quoted decides whether this is a finishing machine or a roughing machine, so settle that first.
The swivel axes use direct drive motors and the C-axis turns at 70 rpm. Positioning accuracy is 0.01 mm and repeatability 0.008 mm on X/Y/Z as per VDI 3441. The magazine holds 32 tools as listed, with 60, 90 or 120 tools as the bracketed alternatives; a tool may be 400 mm long and weigh 8 kg, and chip-to-chip time is 16 s. Anger also mentions an optional multi-pallet system for this model.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Rapids of 60/60/60 m/min on X/Y/Z, the fastest figure in the HS series table
- Direct drive motors on the A/B and C axes, which Anger says run without backlash
- Spindle range of 12,000 - 24,000 rpm, so one frame covers titanium roughing spindles and high-speed aluminium spindles
- Positioning accuracy of 0.01 mm and repeatability of 0.008 mm on X/Y/Z as per VDI 3441
- Magazine of 32 tools with 60, 90 or 120 tools listed as alternatives
- Fully enclosed working area with central chip drainage and a closed coolant circuit
Limitations
- Table load is 350 kg (772 lb), which rules out the heavy housings the HS1400 takes at 2,000 kg
- Largest part is ø700/630 mm, so long structural parts do not fit
- Chip-to-chip time of 16 s is long for work with many short operations
- Needs 80 kVA of connected power at 3x380 V and a floor for 14,000 kg

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The datasheet gives a maximum part size of ø700/630 mm on a ø650 mm table with 14 mm T-slots, and a table load of 350 kg (772 lb). Travels are 710 mm in X, 910 mm in Y and 810 mm in Z. Anger notes that special tables, for example with a threaded hole pattern, are possible.
02
Anger's table gives ranges, not one spindle: 12,000 - 24,000 rpm, 20-60/24-76 kW and 45.5-200/55-302 Nm, the last two as S1/S6-60% ratings. The tool holder is HSK63A, with HSK100A in brackets. Ask which combination a quotation refers to, because the table does not say which speed goes with which torque.
03
Size and pace. The HS1400 has travels of 1,800 mm, 1,250 mm and 1,320 mm and carries 2,000 kg, against 710 mm, 910 mm and 810 mm and 350 kg here. The HS700 is the quicker of the two, with 60/60/60 m/min rapids where the HS1400 lists 50/50/50 m/min, and its chip-to-chip time is 16 s against 20 s on the HS1400.
04
Anger lists Siemens and Heidenhain as the NC controls for the HS series. The same table gives KSS under lubrication, an operating voltage of 3x380 V and a total connected power of 80 kVA for this model.
05
Anger lists an optional multi-pallet system for the HS-700 among the key advantages of the series. The standard magazine holds 32 tools, and the table shows 60, 90 or 120 tools as bracketed alternatives, which matters for unattended running across several part numbers.
