Röders RXU1201DSH

1,500 kg on a rotary-swivel unit puts the Röders RXU1201DSH among the large 5-axis machines for die and mould work. The workpiece limit is 1,500 kg (3,307 lb), the machining range is 1,000 mm x 1,050 mm x 600 mm (39.4 x 41.3 x 23.6 in), and the machine itself weighs about 33.0 t.

Four table forms are listed, from 625 mm round or square up to 895 mm round, with or without two flattened sides. Swivel is +/-115 degrees, others on request, with almost unlimited rotation. Under the spindle nose there is 781 mm (30.7 in). Röders supports the C-axis on both sides so that accuracy holds during long operations and with varying workpiece weights, and it fits large optical encoders in the rotary axes, stating positioning accuracies of 2 arc seconds.

The spindle is the RXU standard: 24,000 rpm, 67 Nm (S1), HSK A63, tools up to 35 mm, with a 102 Nm (S1) spindle as the largest choice. The series is often built as a twin-spindle machine, adding an air-bearing spindle for the finest surfaces. Grinding equipment, when fitted, is mounted at the A-axis.

Chip handling differs from the 3-axis RXU1401. Here 4 screws in the machining area move chips to a chip box or a conveyor behind the machine, which suits a deep swivel unit where chips cannot simply fall clear. The changer has 50 places, optionally 90 or more. Height is the figure to check on site: H 4,020 mm (158.3 in). If more vertical travel is needed, the RXU1201DSXH adds 200 mm in the Z-axis.
