Overview

The Anger Machining GT-630(F) is the mid-size GT gantry: a ø630 mm rotary-tilt table for 600 kg (1,323 lb) under linear axes of 760 mm (29.9 in) in X, 820 mm (32.3 in) in Y and 560 mm (22.0 in) in Z. Parts up to ø800x500 mm fit.

Its natural work is the engine-component range Anger lists for the series, blisks, impellers and engine housings, in sizes that outgrow the GT-500 and its 400 kg table. Compared with the GT-500, travel grows most in Y, from 610 mm to 820 mm, while acceleration drops to 5/5/5 m/s².

Long unattended runs are better supported here than on the smallest model. The magazine is listed with 32 tools and, in brackets, 40, 64 or 80 tools. Each tool may be 300 mm long and weigh 8 kg; diameter is 80 mm, or 125 mm in the bracketed version.

The spindle offer is common to the series: 15,000 - 24,000 rpm, 40/40 kW (S1/S6-40%) with 30/40 kW and 35/42 kW as alternatives, on a BBT-40 interface. So is the choice of direct or roller-cam drive for the swivel axes. The machine weighs 16,000 kg (35,273 lb) and shares its 2,200/4,960/3,290 mm outline with the GT-800E, so the two need the same floor space. Siemens and Heidenhain controls are listed.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What does the GT-630(F) table carry?

600 kg (1,323 lb) on a ø630 mm table with 18 mm T-slots. The maximum part size is ø800x500 mm. Linear travels are 760 mm in X, 820 mm in Y and 560 mm in Z.

02 How many tools can the magazine hold?

The table lists 32 tools and, in brackets, 40, 64 or 80 tools. All are BBT-40 tools of up to 300 mm in length and 8 kg. Chip-to-chip time is 7 s at 1,800 rpm.

03 How does the GT-630(F) differ from the GT-800E?

The GT-800E has a ø800 mm table for 800 kg and parts up to ø900x500 mm, with 800 mm of X travel instead of 760 mm. Y and Z travel, footprint, spindle data and magazine options are the same in both columns. The GT-630(F) weighs 16,000 kg and the GT-800E 17,000 kg.

04 What spindle power is listed?

The power row reads 40/40 kW as S1/S6-40% ratings, with 30/40 kW and 35/42 kW as bracketed alternatives, at 15,000 - 24,000 rpm. Total connected power is 45, 60 or 80 kVA depending on the spindle chosen.

05 Is the rotary table direct-driven?

It can be. Anger lists an optional direct drive or a backlash-free gearbox on the A/C axis. Direct drives are described as the choice for high-precision, fast positioning and roller-cam systems as the choice for high torque during heavy-duty machining.
