How much does the Anderson Axxiom 1616 IP cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Anderson Axxiom 1616 IP that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Anderson Axxiom 1616 IP is the base model of the AXXIOM 5-axis series: a fixed bridge machine with a single moving table of 1600 mm (63”) by 1600 mm (63”) and 1000 mm (39.37”) of Z stroke. X and Y strokes are both 2200 mm (86”). An 18 HP spindle runs to 22,000 rpm on HSK-63, and the machine weighs 8,600 Kg (18,960 lbs.).
A square table under a metre of Z describes the work well. This is a machine for parts with height: thermoformed shells, moulds, patterns and composite lay-ups that are trimmed and drilled from five sides. The strokes are longer than the table in both directions, which gives the tilted head room to reach down the sides of a part that fills the table.
Speeds are moderate. X and Y rapid at 60 m/min, Z at 20 m/min, and the maximum rapid traverse is 85 m/min. On 5-axis trimming the limit is usually the rotary axes and the path, not the linear rapids, and Anderson's table gives no figures for the rotary axes at all. Their ranges and speeds have to be asked for.
The automatic tool changer row reads 8 / 10 / 12 / 16, and the control is FANUC 31i or FANUC 0i. That choice matters on a 5-axis machine, so confirm which control supports the simultaneous functions the work needs. There is 1 vacuum zone, with pumps of 10, 25 or 40 HP listed. Reverse air flow, a bar-code reader, an offload pusher/sweeper, automatic loading and CNC label placement are optional.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1000 mm (39.37”) of Z stroke over a 1600 mm (63”) square table
- X and Y strokes of 2200 mm (86”), wider than the table on both axes
- Fixed bridge and moving table design on a steel base
- 18 HP spindle at up to 22,000 rpm on HSK-63
- Control offered as FANUC 31i or FANUC 0i
Limitations
- No rotary axis ranges or speeds appear in Anderson's table
- One spindle rating only, 18 HP
- A single vacuum zone on the table
- Table is 1600 mm (63”) in Y; longer parts need the Axxiom 1631 IP

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Strokes are 2200 mm (86”) in X, 2200 mm (86”) in Y and 1000 mm (39.37”) in Z, over a table of 1600 mm (63”) by 1600 mm (63”). The usable envelope in 5-axis work is smaller than the strokes, because a tilted head takes up travel. Anderson does not publish the rotary axis ranges.
02
The Axxiom 1631 IP has a longer table and Y stroke: 3100 mm (122”) and 3700 mm (145.6”), against 1600 mm (63”) and 2200 mm (86”) here. The Axxiom 1631 IP weighs 12,000 Kg (26,455 lbs.) against 8,600 Kg (18,960 lbs.) here. Spindle, rapids, Z stroke and control are the same.
03
An 18 HP spindle with a maximum speed of 22,000 rpm and HSK-63 clamping. The automatic tool changer row reads 8 / 10 / 12 / 16, so the size is chosen at order. The table lists no other spindle rating for the series.
04
The table lists FANUC 31i or FANUC 0i. Anderson describes a high-accuracy servo system for all 5 axes. Ask which 5-axis functions each control option includes before choosing, since the table does not say.
