We do not have a price for the Anderson FUV-500 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Anderson FUV-500 tops the compact FUV 5-axis range. Anderson calls it the maximum capacity model, with a Ø500 mm (Ø19.7 in) table and 300 kg (661 lb) of load. Travels are 600 mm (23.6 in) in X, 700 mm (27.6 in) in Y and 520 mm (20.5 in) in Z, and the machine weighs 8,700 kg (19,180 lb).
Y is the long axis here, which is unusual and useful. On a trunnion machine the Y travel has to cover the table swinging away from the column as it tilts, and 700 mm gives the spindle room to reach a part held at steep A angles. The A axis runs from +30° to -120°.
This is the only FUV in the table with a heavier spindle motor on the list: 7.5/11 kW as standard and 15/18.5 in brackets. It is also the only one with a 40 tool magazine among its alternatives, alongside 24 and 30. Both point the same way. Larger parts need more tools and more roughing, and Anderson notes that the bigger magazine supports unattended running.
The cost of size is rotary speed. A is listed at 16 rpm and C at 11 rpm, the slowest in the series, so the FUV-500 is at its best in 3+2 positioning and moderate simultaneous work, not in fast swarf cuts on small features. Linear rapids are 30/30/24 m/min. Base spindle speed is 10,000 rpm with 12,000 and 15,000 listed. Coolant capacity is 400 L and required air pressure is 4-6 kg/cm². The control is FANUC 0i-MF.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Largest table of the series: Ø500 mm (Ø19.7 in) for 300 kg (661 lb)
- 700 mm (27.6 in) of Y travel and 600 mm (23.6 in) of X
- Spindle motor listed as 7.5/11 kW with a 15/18.5 alternative
- Magazine of 24 tools with 30 and 40 listed
- 400 L coolant tank, against 350 L on the FUV-400
Limitations
- Rotary axes are the slowest in the series at 16 rpm on A and 11 rpm on C
- Linear rapids of 30/30/24 m/min
- At 8,700 kg (19,180 lb) it is nearly twice the weight of the FUV-250
- Tools are limited to 250 mm (9.8 in) in length and 7 kg (15 lb)

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A Ø500 mm (Ø19.7 in) table with a maximum load of 300 kg (661 lb), and travels of 600 mm (23.6 in), 700 mm (27.6 in) and 520 mm (20.5 in) in X, Y and Z. Anderson describes it as the maximum capacity model of this series.
02
The motor row reads 7.5/11 kW with 15/18.5 in brackets, on an ISO 40 direct-drive spindle. Speed is 10,000 rpm with 12,000 and 15,000 listed. The table does not say which motor pairs with which speed, so have that stated in the quotation.
03
24 as standard, with 30 and 40 listed as alternatives. Anderson says the arm-type changer with up to 40 tool capacity enables unattended operation. Tool-to-tool time is 1.55 sec and chip-to-chip 5 sec; maximum tool diameter is Ø75 mm, or Ø150 mm with empty adjacent pockets.
04
The A axis is listed at 16 rpm and the C axis at 11 rpm, both direct drive with 0.001° resolution. The smaller FUV-400 lists 25 rpm on each. Slower rotary axes lengthen cycles that rely on continuous 5-axis motion.
