Overview
A short bed with a very large chuck describes the Accuway UT-380. Z travel is only 750 mm (29.5 in), yet the maximum turning diameter is 680 mm (26.8 in) and the largest spindle column carries an A2-15 nose, an 18 in chuck and a 166.5 mm (6.6 in) bar capacity.
This is a disc and ring machine. Swing over bed is 850 mm (33.5 in), swing over saddle 700 mm (27.6 in), and X travel 370 mm (14.6 in), all larger than the UT-360, which turns 540 mm (21.3 in). Length is the trade: 630 mm (24.8 in) with the A2-8 nose, 550 mm (21.7 in) with A2-11 and 490 mm (19.3 in) with A2-15.
The gear box, an option on the UT-360, is a standard accessory here, and the motor row reads 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) plus a 2-step gearbox, with 30/37 kW (40.2/49.6 hp) in brackets. Large diameters mean low spindle speeds, and a geared headstock keeps torque available there. Top speed in the A2-15 column is 1,800 rpm.
At 6,500 kg (14,330 lb) the UT-380 is compact for what it swings; the footprint is 3.6 x 2.3 x 2.2 m (141.7 x 90.6 x 86.6 in). Tooling is a 12-station BOT turret for 32 mm (1.3 in) square shanks, with a servo turret or an APT 50 power turret available as options. A tailstock with an MT#6 quill is included in the table.
