Overview

A Y axis and a tailstock together: that is the Accuway UT-200Y. It keeps the single spindle and centre support of the UT-200M and adds ±50 mm (±2.0 in) of Y travel under a 12-station BMT/VDI turret with rotary tools at 6,000 rpm.

The combination matters for shaft-type parts with off-centre features. A keyway that must be cut to width with an end mill, a flat at a set distance from the axis or a row of offset holes all need Y, and a part long enough to need a centre cannot go on the two-spindle UT-200SY, which has no tailstock. Here the tailstock body travels 545 mm (21.5 in) with an MT#4 quill.

Maximum turning diameter is 240 mm (9.4 in) and turning length 440 mm (17.3 in), or 365 mm (14.4 in) with the largest spindle. Swing over bed is 680 mm (26.8 in), reflecting the wider bed that carries the Y slide. Travels are 220 mm (8.7 in) in X and 600 mm (23.6 in) in Z at 20 m/min (787 in/min), with Y at 10 m/min (394 in/min).

The four spindle columns run from A2-5, 6 in chuck, 44 mm (1.7 in) bar and 6,000 rpm to A2-8, 10 in chuck, 75 mm (3.0 in) bar and 3,500 rpm, on 11/15 kW (14.8/20.1 hp). The machine weighs 4,500 kg (9,921 lb). The same page lists the UA-200Y, a version with a 15-station BMT-55N turret.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the Y-axis travel of the Accuway UT-200Y?

±50 mm (±2.0 in), at a rapid traverse rate of 10 m/min (394 in/min). X-axis travel is 220 mm (8.7 in) and Z-axis travel 600 mm (23.6 in), both at 20 m/min (787 in/min).

02 What is the difference between the UT-200Y and the UA-200Y?

The turret and what it leaves for the part. The UA-200Y has a 15-station BMT-55N turret, a 155 mm (6.1 in) maximum turning diameter, a 500 mm (19.7 in) turning length and weighs 5,000 kg (11,023 lb). The UT-200Y has 12 stations, 240 mm (9.4 in) and 440 mm (17.3 in), and weighs 4,500 kg (9,921 lb).

03 Does the UT-200Y have a tailstock?

Yes. Tailstock body travel is 545 mm (21.5 in), quill travel 80 mm (3.1 in), quill diameter 75 mm (3.0 in) and quill taper MT#4. That distinguishes it from the two-spindle UT-200SY, whose table has no tailstock section.

04 Which spindle can the UT-200Y be ordered with?

One of four columns: A2-5 with a 6 in chuck and 6,000 rpm, A2-6 with an 8 in chuck at 4,500 or 4,000 rpm, or A2-8 with a 10 in chuck and 3,500 rpm. Bar capacity is 44, 52, 65 or 75 mm. Power is 11/15 kW (14.8/20.1 hp).
