Overview
The Accuway UT-360LX3 has 3,182 mm (125.3 in) of Z travel and turns parts up to 3,062 mm (120.6 in) long. With the A2-11 spindle noses the length is 2,982 mm (117.4 in). It is the top of the UT-360 series for length.
An odd fact in the tables: the UT-360LX3 and the lighter-series UT-300LX3 are both listed at 11,000 kg (24,250 lb) and 7 x 2.3 x 2.2 m (275.6 x 90.6 x 86.6 in). The step up between the two series, visible in weight on every shorter bed, vanishes at this length. What remains different is the working hardware: 540 mm (21.3 in) of turning diameter, a 600 mm (23.6 in) swing over saddle, an 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) motor and an MT#6 quill of 120 mm (4.7 in).
Z rapid traverse is 10 m/min (394 in/min). The tailstock body travels 3,040 mm (119.7 in).
Three-metre turning is slow, low-speed work, and the top spindle speed of 2,700 rpm will rarely be reached with a part this long in the chuck. More relevant is torque at low rpm, for which a gear box is offered as an option, and support along the part, for which a steady rest is offered. Neither is standard. The turret takes 32 mm (1.3 in) square and 50 mm (2.0 in) round shanks in 12 BOT stations, and the control is a FANUC 0i-T with a 10.4" Colored LCD monitor.
