Overview
The Accuway UT-200SY is the fully equipped member of the UT-200 family: second spindle, rotary tools and a Y axis with ±50 mm (±2.0 in) of travel. With Y, a rotary tool can leave the centreline, so flats, offset holes and pockets can be milled to size instead of approximated with X and C moves.
Adding Y changes the machine's cross-section. Swing over bed is 680 mm (26.8 in) and swing over saddle 485 mm (19.1 in), both well above the UT-200SM, and the machine is taller and heavier at 2.2 m and 4,500 kg (9,921 lb). Turning diameter does not grow with it. The table gives 240 mm (9.4 in) at SP1 and 200 mm (7.9 in) at SP2, a little under the two-spindle models without Y.
Rotary tools run to 6,000 rpm on 3.7/5.5 kW (5.0/7.4 hp) in a 12-station BMT/VDI turret. Y rapid traverse is 10 m/min (394 in/min), half the 20 m/min (787 in/min) of X, Z and the B axis that carries the second spindle through its 585 mm (23.0 in).
Both spindles follow the family pattern. The main one comes in four columns from A2-5 with a 6 in chuck at 6,000 rpm to A2-8 with a 10 in chuck at 3,500 rpm, on 11/15 kW (14.8/20.1 hp). The second is A2-5 with 44 mm (1.7 in) of bar capacity and 5.5/7.5 kW (7.4/10.1 hp). Turning length is 440 mm (17.3 in), or 360 mm (14.2 in) in the A2-8 column.
