LICO LNC65 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the LICO LNC65 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from LICO or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Torque is the figure to read first on the LICO LNC65. This CNC automatic lathe for 65 mm (2.6 in) bar lists a maximum spindle torque of 95 Nm (70.1 lb-ft) from a 7.5 kW (10 HP) continuous motor, at up to 4,000 rpm. The LNC42 beside it in the table has 42 Nm (31.0 lb-ft), so the larger model more than doubles the torque while keeping the same cabinet.

Same cabinet is meant literally. Both sizes are listed at 1,870 x 1,440 x 1,650 mm (73.6 x 56.7 x 65.0 in), with 300 mm (11.8 in) of X travel and 300 mm (11.8 in) of Z, and a maximum swing of 260 mm (10.2 in). The LNC65 weighs 2,000 kg (4,409 lb), and its total power requirement is 28 kVA.

The spindle nose is an ISO A2-6 with an F72 collet chuck as standard equipment. An 8 in hollow power chuck is optional; with it the turning diameter is 195 mm (7.7 in) and the turning length 254 mm (10 in). That diameter is close to the swing, so check tool clearance on chuck work of full size.

Tooling follows the series pattern of gang tools on a dovetail X-axis slide, but the optional turret for this size has 12 positions where the smaller model gets 8. Working feeds reach 0-10,000 mm/min (0-394 ipm). Standard rapid traverse is 10 m/min (394 ipm), with 15 m/min (591 ipm) as an option, and the standard controller is the MITSUBISHI M64SL, SIEMENS 802D or FANUC OiMATE.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Maximum spindle torque of 95 Nm (70.1 lb-ft), against 42 Nm (31.0 lb-ft) on the LNC42
  • 65 mm (2.6 in) bar capacity on an ISO A2-6 spindle nose
  • The optional tool turret for this size has 12 positions
  • Working feeds of 0-10,000 mm/min (0-394 ipm)
  • Same 1,870 x 1,440 x 1,650 mm (73.6 x 56.7 x 65.0 in) outside dimensions as the smaller model

Limitations

  • Maximum spindle speed is 4,000 rpm; the LNC42 runs to 5,000 rpm
  • 7.5 kW (10 HP) continuous is a small motor for 65 mm (2.6 in) bar in alloy steel
  • Turning diameter of 195 mm (7.7 in) with the chuck sits close to the 260 mm (10.2 in) maximum swing
  • The 12-position turret, the 8 in hollow power chuck and the automatic bar feeder are optional accessories
