Overview
A Y axis on a 6 in loader lathe: the Accuway UT-100Y gives small automated parts ±25 mm (±1.0 in) of off-centre reach. It keeps the built-in loader of the UT-100 line and the 6,000 rpm rotary tools of the UT-100M.
The Y slide changes the proportions of the machine more than the stroke suggests. X travel shrinks to 80 mm (3.1 in) and Z to 220 mm (8.7 in). Swing over bed grows to 450 mm (17.7 in). The enclosure becomes 2.4 x 2 x 2.53 m (94.5 x 78.7 x 99.6 in) and the weight 2,300 kg (5,071 lb), so the cell no longer fits the 1.7 m length of the UT-100M.
Turning diameter is 110 mm (4.3 in) and turning length 170 mm (6.7 in). The loader still takes material of 10~60 mm (0.4~2.4 in) in diameter, and its vertical stroke is longer here, 660 mm (26.0 in), presumably to clear the taller Y-axis structure; its traverse stroke is 360 mm (14.2 in). Both loader axes move at 84 m/min (3,307 in/min).
Y rapid traverse is 10 m/min (394 in/min). The rotary tool driver has 3.7/5.5 kW (5.0/7.4 hp), and tool shanks are 25 mm (1.0 in) square or 40 mm (1.6 in) round in a 12-station turret. Typical work would be a small valve spool with a flat, a connector with an offset port, or a fitting whose hex is milled instead of bought as hex bar.
