Overview
Rotary tools on a 15 in chuck class lathe: that is the Accuway UT-300M. It takes the UT-300 bed with 750 mm (29.5 in) of Z travel and fits a 12-station BMT/VDI turret with servo mechanical drive, whose live stations run to 4,000 rpm on a 3.7/5.5 kW (5.0/7.4 hp) motor.
The live turret is larger than the plain one, and the table shows the result. Maximum turning diameter is 420 mm (16.5 in), where the UT-300 turns 500 mm (19.7 in). Turning length shrinks too, to 540 mm (21.3 in) with an A2-8 nose and 460 mm (18.1 in) with A2-11. Anyone moving a job from the two-axis machine should check both figures against the part before assuming it still fits.
