Zayer ZERO G — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Zayer ZERO G that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Zayer or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Zayer ZERO G puts a rotary table on the ZERO bed type platform. Zayer lists it together with the ZERO G-MT on one page with a single specification table: a 1,500 x 1,250 mm (59.1 x 49.2 in) rotary table, 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of X travel, 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of Y and 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Z.

This is the most compact machine in Zayer's bed type group. The ZERO starts at 3,000 mm (118.1 in) of X travel, and the XIOS G starts at 2,500 mm (98.4 in). The short stroke fits the job: a part sits on the rotary table and is turned to face the ram, so table rotation does much of the work a long longitudinal axis would do on a plain bed mill. The table carries 6,000 kg (13,228 lb), and the maximum distance from the table to the spindle nose is 1,345 mm (53.0 in).

Like its parent, it drives all three linear axes by ball screw and reaches 40,000 mm/min (1,575 ipm) rapid feed and 35,000 mm/min (1,378 ipm) working feed. The accuracy rows are unchanged too: 0.006/4,000 mm positioning and 0.004/4,000 mm repeatability. Power is 33 kW (44.3 hp), with the spindle head at 6,000 rpm or an optional 8,000 rpm.

Zayer marks the rotary table, a chip conveyor, the coolant tank and a complete enclosure with ceiling as standard. The head is a 45º automatic head; a continuous-rotation 45º head and a 30º head are options. The magazine holds 40 tools, or 60 as an option. The page does not say what the MT version adds, and it gives no rotary table speed, CNC or machine weight, so those points need to be confirmed with Zayer.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • The 1,500 x 1,250 mm (59.1 x 49.2 in) rotary table is standard equipment, not an option
  • Complete enclosure with ceiling is standard, where the ZERO has it as an option
  • Ball screws on all three linear axes with 40,000 mm/min (1,575 ipm) rapid feed
  • Positioning accuracy of 0.006/4,000 mm and repeatability of 0.004/4,000 mm
  • 33 kW (44.3 hp), slightly more than the 30 kW (40.2 hp) of the ZERO

Limitations

  • X travel is a single size, 2,000 mm (78.7 in), with no longer version listed
  • Table load is 6,000 kg (13,228 lb), below the 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) of the ZERO
  • Zayer's page does not explain the difference between the ZERO G and the ZERO G-MT
  • No rotary table speed, CNC, spindle taper or machine weight is published

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What size is the rotary table on the ZERO G?

The rotary table measures 1,500 x 1,250 mm (59.1 x 49.2 in) and is rated for 6,000 kg (13,228 lb). Zayer marks it as standard equipment. The maximum distance from the table to the spindle nose is 1,345 mm (53.0 in).

02 What is the difference between the ZERO G and the ZERO G-MT?

Zayer presents both names on one product page with one specification table, and that page does not state what separates them. The figures here, such as 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of X travel and 33 kW (44.3 hp), are the ones Zayer publishes for the pair. Ask Zayer which functions belong to the MT version.

03 How does the ZERO G compare with the ZERO?

The ZERO has a plain moving table 3,000 or 4,000 mm (118.1 or 157.5 in) long with matching X travel and a 10,000 kg (22,046 lb) load. The ZERO G replaces it with a rotary table and 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of X travel. Y, Z, rapid feed and the accuracy rows are the same on both.

04 How fast are the axes of the ZERO G?

Rapid feed is 40,000 mm/min (1,575 ipm) and working feed is 35,000 mm/min (1,378 ipm). Zayer gives one figure for the machine, not one per axis. All three linear axes are driven by ball screws.

05 How many tools does the ZERO G hold?

The tool magazine holds 40 tools as standard, and a 60-tool magazine is optional. The spindle head runs at 6,000 rpm, or 8,000 rpm as an option.
