How much does the Zayer XIOS cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Zayer XIOS that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Zayer XIOS is a bed type milling machine with a horizontal ram, a fixed bed and a moving table, sized for general workshop work on long parts. The table and the X travel come in three lengths, 3,000, 4,000 or 5,000 mm (118.1, 157.5 or 196.9 in). Y travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in) and Z travel 1,600 mm (63.0 in) in the base machine.
Options are where the XIOS grows. Cross travel can be 1,600 mm (63.0 in), vertical travel 2,000, 2,500 or 3,000 mm (78.7, 98.4 or 118.1 in), and the table can be 1,300 mm (51.2 in) wide in place of 1,000 mm (39.4 in). A tall Z on a bed type machine lets tall work be reached without moving up to a floor type machine. Table load is 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), or 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) on machines with more than 4000 mm of longitudinal travel.
The longitudinal axis is driven by a rack with a double motor and pinion, the cross and vertical axes by ball screws. Rapid feed is 30,000 mm/min (1,181 ipm) lengthwise and 35,000 mm/min (1,378 ipm) on the other two axes. Zayer describes a casting structure, prismatic guides with preloaded roller packs, and a ram guided inside the saddle at 6 points, which lets the geometry be readjusted over time. The priorities are plain: stiffness under heavy cuts first, axis speed second.
Power is 41 kW (55.0 hp), with 61 kW (81.8 hp) optional, and the spindle head runs at 6,000 rpm or an optional 8,000 rpm. Six heads are listed. The 45º automatic head is standard; the options include a 30º head with a 33 kW electrospindle. The magazine holds 30 tools, with 40, 60, 80 or 100 as options. Machine weight is about 20,000 to 32,000 kg (44,092 to 70,547 lb).

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Three table and X travel lengths: 3,000, 4,000 or 5,000 mm (118.1, 157.5 or 196.9 in)
- Vertical travel can be extended from 1,600 mm (63.0 in) to as much as 3,000 mm (118.1 in)
- 41 kW (55.0 hp) as standard and 61 kW (81.8 hp) as an option
- Ram guided inside a cast iron saddle at 6 points, with roller packs that allow the geometry to be readjusted
- Six head choices, from the standard 45º automatic head to a 30º electrospindle head
- Table load of 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) on the versions with longitudinal travel above 4000 mm
Limitations
- Rapid feed on the longitudinal axis is 30,000 mm/min (1,181 ipm), slower than the 40,000 mm/min (1,575 ipm) of the ZERO
- Positioning accuracy is 0.008/4,000 mm, where the ZERO is listed at 0.006/4,000 mm
- The 1,300 mm (51.2 in) table, the longer Y and Z travels and the 61 kW (81.8 hp) rating are all options
- At about 20,000 to 32,000 kg (44,092 to 70,547 lb) the foundation and rigging need planning
- No CNC, spindle taper or torque figure appears on Zayer's page

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Three lengths: 3,000, 4,000 or 5,000 mm (118.1, 157.5 or 196.9 in) of table and X travel. Cross travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in) with 1,600 mm (63.0 in) optional. Vertical travel is 1,600 mm (63.0 in), and 2,000, 2,500 or 3,000 mm (78.7, 98.4 or 118.1 in) are options.
02
10,000 kg (22,046 lb). Zayer raises that to 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) for machines with a longitudinal travel above 4000 mm. The table is 1,000 mm (39.4 in) wide as standard and 1,300 mm (51.2 in) as an option.
03
Zayer lists six. The 45º automatic head is standard. Optional are a 45º head listed as 360x1º and 360x1º, a 45º head with continuous rotation, two 30º heads, and a 30º head with a 33 kW electrospindle. In the base machine power is 41 kW (55.0 hp) and the spindle head speed is 6,000 rpm.
04
The XIOS is the larger-capacity bed type: more power at 41 kW (55.0 hp), a third table length of 5,000 mm (196.9 in), and optional Y and Z extensions. The ZERO is listed with tighter accuracy, 0.006/4,000 mm positioning, and faster axes at 40,000 mm/min (1,575 ipm).
05
The longitudinal axis uses a rack with a double motor and pinion. The cross and vertical axes use ball screws, and the vertical drive has a direct motor with a compensation cylinder. A telescopic cylinder that reduces the height of the machine is optional. Working feed is 25,000 mm/min (984 ipm) lengthwise and 30,000 mm/min (1,181 ipm) on the cross and vertical axes.
