SHW UniForce 7000 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the SHW UniForce 7000 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from SHW or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

A vertical travel of up to 7,100 mm (279.5 in) defines the SHW UniForce 7000. No other travelling column machine on SHW's current product pages is listed with as much Y, and SHW calls this one a large machining center in XXL format, developed for demanding and heavy-duty machining work.

At that height nobody can watch the cut from the floor. SHW's answer is an integrated travelling elevating work platform, which the product page says always offers an optimum view of the machining process. Ask how the platform, the tool handling and the control panel are arranged, because on a column this tall tool loading and setup checks happen high above the shop floor.

The other maximum travels are 40,000 mm (1,574.8 in) in X and 1,800 mm (70.9 in) in Z, the horizontal cross axis. That Z is longer than the 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of the UniForce 4000, which helps the head reach into deep workpieces. Drive data match the smaller machine: up to 100 kW (134.1 hp), up to 5,000 rpm, feeds and rapids up to 36,000 mm/min (1,417 ipm) and 2 m/s² of acceleration.

The base head is the universal milling head in orthogonal design (A axis 180°, C axis 360°), on SK 50 BIG-PLUS or HSK 100 A DIN 69893 tooling. The listed versions are milling machine, turn-mill machine, head-changing machine and double-column machine, with Heidenhain or Siemens control. No workpiece weight, torque or machine weight is published, and on a machine of this size the foundation is part of the project.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Vertical travel up to 7,100 mm (279.5 in)
  • Cross travel of 1,800 mm (70.9 in), more than the 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of the UniForce 4000
  • Main drive of up to 100 kW (134.1 hp)
  • Integrated travelling elevating work platform for a view of the machining process
  • X travel configurable up to 40,000 mm (1,574.8 in)

Limitations

  • The spindle speed range ends at up to 5,000 rpm
  • Acceleration of 2 m/s², where the PowerSpeed 4000 is listed with 3.5 m/s²
  • No pallet-changing version is listed
  • SHW publishes no torque, table load or weight figures for the machine

Best For

Very tall workpieces needing up to 7,100 mm (279.5 in) of vertical travel Heavy-duty machining with up to 100 kW (134.1 hp) Deep reach with 1,800 mm (70.9 in) of cross travel Double-column setups for very large components

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How tall a workpiece can the UniForce 7000 machine?

The brochure lists a maximum vertical travel (Y) of 7,100 mm (279.5 in). Usable height on a given job also depends on the milling head fitted and on the clamping plate or table under the part, neither of which SHW dimensions in its published data.

02 What is the elevating work platform for?

SHW describes an integrated travelling elevating work platform that always offers an optimum view of the machining process. On a column with 7,100 mm (279.5 in) of vertical travel the cut can be far above floor level, so the platform carries the operator up to it.

03 What drive does the UniForce 7000 have?

A main drive of up to 100 kW (134.1 hp) with a speed range of up to 5,000 rpm, the same as the UniForce 4000. Tool holders are SK 50 BIG-PLUS or HSK 100 A DIN 69893. Feeds and rapid traverse reach up to 36,000 mm/min (1,417 ipm).

04 How does it differ from the UniForce 4000?

Only in Y and Z, going by SHW's table. The UniForce 4000 is listed with 4,100 mm (161.4 in) and 1,600 mm (63.0 in); the UniForce 7000 with 7,100 mm (279.5 in) and 1,800 mm (70.9 in). Maximum X is 40,000 mm (1,574.8 in) on both, and the product page for the larger machine adds the elevating work platform.

05 Which heads and controls are available?

The base machine has the universal milling head in orthogonal design with 180° of swivel on the A axis and 360° on the C axis. Universal, fork, horizontal, angle and special milling heads are listed as options. Controls are Heidenhain or Siemens.
