How much does the Zayer NEOS cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Zayer NEOS that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Zayer NEOS is the high speed gantry of the range, by which Zayer means axis dynamics: rapid feed is 50,000 mm/min (1,969 ipm), stated as a figure and not as an upper limit, with working feed up to 45,000 mm/min (1,772 ipm). The bridge moves over a fixed table and the cross beam is fixed.
The drive layout is what delivers that. Both the longitudinal and the cross axis use a two-motor rack and pinion, and the vertical axis runs on 2 ball screws with a double compensation system. On the THERA only the cross and vertical axes reach 50,000 mm/min (1,969 ipm), and the long axis is listed at 30,000 mm/min (1,181 ipm).
Sizes cover a wide span. X travel runs from 3,000 and 4,000 mm to 20,000 mm (787.4 in) and beyond. Y is 2,000 mm (78.7 in) and can be ordered in steps up to 4,500 mm (177.2 in). Z is 1,250 mm (49.2 in), with 1,500, 1,750 or 2,000 mm (59.1, 68.9 or 78.7 in) optional, and the distance from table to spindle nose grows with it, from 1,465 mm (57.7 in) to 2,215 mm (87.2 in). The table carries 15,000 kg/m², and machine weight is about 40,000 to 180,000 kg (88,183 to 396,825 lb).
Speed here does not mean spindle speed. The spindle head is listed at 4,500 - 6,000 rpm on 43 kW (57.7 hp), 60 kW (80.5 hp) optional, so the base head is a low-speed one on a fast-moving machine. Higher speeds come from the optional electrospindle heads, among them a 40º head with 42 kW and 15,000 rpm. The standard 45º head works in positions or in continuous rotation, change of heads is standard, and the magazine holds 30 tools with 40, 60, 80, 100 or 120 optional.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Rapid feed of 50,000 mm/min (1,969 ipm), with two-motor rack and pinion drives on both the longitudinal and cross axes
- X travel from 3,000 mm to 20,000 mm (787.4 in) and beyond
- 43 kW (57.7 hp) standard and 60 kW (80.5 hp) optional
- Standard 45º head offers positioning and continuous rotation
- Change of heads is standard, with nine heads listed
- Cast iron structure calculated using finite elements
Limitations
- Spindle head speed is 4,500 - 6,000 rpm in the specification table; higher speeds need an optional electrospindle head
- No moving cross beam is offered on this model's page
- Weighs about 40,000 to 180,000 kg (88,183 to 396,825 lb)
- Pendulum work and an operator's platform, listed for the THERA, are not in the NEOS accessory table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Because of its axes. Rapid feed is 50,000 mm/min (1,969 ipm) and working feed up to 45,000 mm/min (1,772 ipm), with two-motor rack and pinion drives on the longitudinal and cross axes. Zayer's own line for it is high dynamics without waiving rigidity. The spindle head itself is listed at 4,500 - 6,000 rpm.
02
X travel from 3,000 and 4,000 mm to 20,000 mm (787.4 in) and beyond, with table lengths from 2,500 mm to 19,500 mm (767.7 in). Y travel from 2,000 mm (78.7 in) to 4,500 mm (177.2 in). Z travel of 1,250 mm (49.2 in), or 1,500, 1,750 or 2,000 mm (59.1, 68.9 or 78.7 in) optional.
03
43 kW (57.7 hp) as standard and 60 kW (80.5 hp) as an option. Optional electrospindle heads are listed too, including a 40º head with 42 kW and 15,000 rpm and a 30º head with electrospindle.
04
Both gantries start at 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Y travel. The NEOS is bigger and stronger: 43 kW (57.7 hp) against the 30 kW (40.2 hp) high torque rating of the AETOS, Z options to 2,000 mm (78.7 in) against 1,500 mm (59.1 in), and change of heads as standard.
05
Zayer lists the allowed weight on the table as 15,000 kg/m². The table is fixed, 2,000 mm (78.7 in) wide as standard with widths up to 4,500 mm (177.2 in) optional, and the columns are 3,000 mm (118.1 in) apart, or up to 5,500 mm (216.5 in).
