You Ji VTM1100 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the You Ji VTM1100 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from You Ji or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The You Ji VTM1100 pairs a 1,260 x 550 mm (49.6 x 21.7 in) table with 1,100 mm (43.3 in) of X travel, and moves that table on linear guide ways. Only the Z-axis keeps a box guide way. It is the larger of the two VTM sizes.

On a long-table machine the X-axis does most of the travelling. A row of fixtures means the table shuttles end to end between every tool, and rolling guides on X and Y make those moves with less friction and less stick-slip than box ways. The head, meanwhile, pushes straight down into the work when drilling, which is where the sliding Z way earns its place.

Y-axis travel is 600 mm (23.6 in) and Z-axis travel 600 mm (23.6 in). The spindle takes BT-40 tooling and is listed at 8,000 rpm, and its nose sits 100-700 mm (3.9-27.6 in) from the table.

Beside it in the catalogue are the VMC1100 with box ways throughout and the VLM1100 with linear ways throughout. The three share one row of figures, and You Ji does not publish feed rates, table load or tool capacity for any of them. Ask for those numbers per series before comparing. The machine needs 2,450 x 4,180 mm (96.5 x 164.6 in) of floor and 3,030 mm (119.3 in) of height.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,100 mm (43.3 in) X travel on linear guide ways for fast shuttling between fixtures
  • Box guide way on the Z-axis under the spindle head
  • 1,260 x 550 mm (49.6 x 21.7 in) table for several vises in a row
  • 8,000 rpm BT-40 spindle with up to 700 mm (27.6 in) nose-to-table distance

Limitations

  • Table load is not published for the VTM series
  • No BT-50 size: the VTM series stops at 1,100, and the BT-50 VMC1350 has no VTM counterpart
  • Feed and rapid rates are missing from the table
  • Y travel of 600 mm (23.6 in) is the same as on the shorter VTM850

Best For

Rows of small parts machined in multiple vises Long aluminium or steel extrusions and rails up to 1,100 mm (43.3 in) Hole-heavy plates where drilling thrust goes into the Z box way

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Why does the VTM1100 mix linear and box ways?

You Ji's key gives the VTM series linear guide ways on X and Y and a box guide way on Z. Linear guides suit the long, frequent table moves; a box way under the head suits axial cutting loads. It sits between the all-box VMC1100 and the all-linear VLM1100.

02 What are the VTM1100 travels and table size?

X 1,100 mm (43.3 in), Y 600 mm (23.6 in), Z 600 mm (23.6 in). The table measures 1,260 x 550 mm (49.6 x 21.7 in), and spindle nose to table distance is 100-700 mm (3.9-27.6 in).

03 What is the difference between the VTM1100 and the VTM850?

Length. The VTM850 has 850 mm (33.5 in) of X travel and a 1,000 x 550 mm (39.4 x 21.7 in) table. Y, Z, spindle taper, 8,000 rpm speed, machine width and the 3,030 mm (119.3 in) height are unchanged.

04 What footprint should I plan for?

Floor space is listed as 2,450 x 4,180 mm (96.5 x 164.6 in) and machine height as 3,030 mm (119.3 in). Add room for the chip and coolant equipment and for door and electrical cabinet access, which the table does not include.
