Overview

Three metres of X travel and 800 mm of both Y and Z put the YCM TCV3000A among the largest 40-taper vertical machines YCM builds. It is a travelling column machining center: the 3,500 x 800 mm (137.8 x 31.5 in) table is fixed, and the column carries the spindle over 3,000 mm (118.11 in).

Next to the TCV2000A, which has a table 520 mm deep, this is a different kind of machine. Y travel of 800 mm (31.50 in) and Z travel of 800 mm (31.50 in) open it to plates, frames and box-shaped parts, and the fixed table takes 3,000 kg (6,614 lb). Machine weight nearly doubles, to 24,000 kg (52,910 lb).

The work area can be divided. In two-area mode the X travel is listed as 2 x 1,100 mm, which gives each side more stroke than many stand-alone vertical machines have. A shop can run two different jobs alternately, or keep the wall out and machine one part the full length of the bed.

The column reaches 40 m/min on roller type guideways, with a cooled X axis and no counterweight on Z. Because the magazine rides with the column, tool capacity matters more than usual on long jobs. It holds 40 tools, with 80 optional. The spindle is BBT40, 22 kW (30 HP), 12,000 rpm, with a 15,000 rpm option. Spindle nose to table is 50~850 mm, so a short tool can still reach a thin plate lying on the table.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How large is the TCV3000A work area?

X travel is 3,000 mm (118.11 in), Y is 800 mm (31.50 in) and Z is 800 mm (31.50 in). The fixed table measures 3,500 x 800 mm (137.8 x 31.5 in), has T-slots listed as 7 x 18 x 100 mm and carries 3,000 kg (6,614 lb).

02 Can the TCV3000A work on two parts alternately?

Yes. The table lists X-axis travel working in 2 areas as 2 x 1,100 mm. YCM describes a dividing wall in the working area, so one area can be set up while the column machines in the other.

03 How many tools does it carry?

40 tools as standard and 80 as an option. A tool can be ø76 x 300 mm with adjacent tools, ø125 x 300 mm without, and weigh up to 6 kg (13.2 lb). Guideway blocks support the magazine as it moves with the column.

04 Is there a 5-axis version?

Yes, the TCV3000A-5AX. It keeps the 3,000 mm (118.11 in) X travel and the 3,500 x 800 mm (137.8 x 31.5 in) table and adds a swivel head and a ø800 mm (ø31.5 in) rotary table. The TCV3000A-5AX weighs 24,700 kg (54,454 lb).
