Price estimate
We do not have a price for the YCM NXV1680B that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The only 50-taper machine in YCM's NXV range, the NXV1680B pairs a BT50 gearhead spindle with travels of 1,630 mm (64.2 in) in X, 860 mm (33.9 in) in Y and 762 mm (30 in) in Z. Standard spindle speed is 6,000 rpm, and YCM states 18.5 kW (25 HP) and 48 kgf-m of torque for the gearhead.
Torque is the reason to choose it. A geared 6,000 rpm spindle delivers its power low in the speed range, where large face mills, big drills and boring bars work. The magazine is sized to match: tools up to 20 kg (44 lb), ø120 x 350 mm in the 32-tool magazine with adjacent pockets filled and ø240 x 350 mm without neighbours. Tool change takes 4.2 sec tool-to-tool, slower than the BBT40 models of the range, which is normal for tools of this mass.
For shops that need speed as well, the options column lists a 10,000 rpm spindle with 45 kW (60 HP) and a BBT50 taper. The quill-type spindle housing has its own cooling system.
The structure is heavier throughout. The table is 1,730 x 860 mm (68.1 x 33.9 in), rated for 2,000 kg (4,409 lb), with 22 mm T-slots on a 150 mm pitch. Machine weight is 16,500 kg (36,376 lb). Rapids are 24 m/min (945 ipm) on all axes and cutting feed tops out at 10,000 mm/min (394 ipm), half the figure listed for the BBT40 machines of the NXV range.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A gearhead spindle with a BT50 taper, a maximum of 6,000 rpm, 18.5 kW (25 HP) and 48 kgf-m of torque. A 10,000 rpm spindle rated 45 kW (60 HP) is listed as an option, and BBT50 is the optional taper.
02
Up to 20 kg (44 lb) each. The 24-tool magazine takes ø110 x 350 mm, or ø190 x 350 mm without adjacent tools. The 32 and 40-tool magazines take ø120 x 350 mm, or ø240 x 350 mm without adjacent tools. The standard magazine holds 32 tools.
03
X travel is 1,630 mm (64.2 in), Y is 860 mm (33.9 in) and Z is 762 mm (30 in). The table is 1,730 x 860 mm (68.1 x 33.9 in) and carries 2,000 kg (4,409 lb). Spindle nose to table is 200~962 mm (7.9~37.9 in).
04
Yes, on paper. Rapid traverse is 24 m/min (945 ipm) on X, Y and Z, cutting feed is 1~10,000 mm/min, and the tool change is 4.2 sec tool-to-tool. The machine is laid out for heavy cuts with 50-taper tools, where those figures matter less.
