Price estimate
We do not have a price for the YCM NXV1380A that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The YCM NXV1380A is a wide-body BBT40 vertical machining center: 1,330 mm (52.4 in) in X, 762 mm (30 in) in Y and 700 mm (27.6 in) in Z, under a table of 1,430 x 760 mm (56.3 x 29.9 in). Its distinguishing option is in the spindle list, where a 37 kW (50 HP) unit appears beside the standard 18.5 kW (25 HP).
That option changes what the machine is for. With 18.5 kW it is a large-envelope machine for lighter cuts. With 37 kW behind a 12,000 rpm spindle it can remove material at a rate that makes use of the 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) table rating. The optional spindles are listed at 12,000 and 15,000 rpm, and oil-air lubrication comes with them; the standard 12,000 rpm spindle is grease lubricated.
YCM describes the axis layout as six slide blocks on X and four linear guideways on Y, with no counterweight on the Z axis. Leaving out the counterweight removes a hanging mass from the head, which helps Z respond cleanly in contouring. Rapids are 30 m/min (1,181 ipm) in X and Y and 24 m/min (945 ipm) in Z.
A 762 mm Y stroke is unusual on a C-frame machine and lets deep parts be reached without repositioning. Spindle nose to table is 100~800 mm (3.94~31.5 in). The machine weighs 10,500 kg (23,149 lb) and carries 24 tools as standard, with 30, 48 or 60 optional.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Optional 37 kW (50 HP) spindle beside the standard 18.5 kW (25 HP)
- Y travel of 762 mm (30 in) with 4 linear guideways under the saddle
- 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) table load on a 1,430 x 760 mm (56.3 x 29.9 in) table
- No counterweight on the Z axis
- Up to 800 mm (31.5 in) from spindle nose to table for tall parts
Limitations
- The 37 kW (50 HP) spindle is an option; the standard machine has 18.5 kW (25 HP)
- Taper is BBT40 only, so the tool weight limit is 6 kg (13 lb)
- Rapids of 30 m/min (1,181 ipm) are slower than the 36 m/min of the NXV1270A
- Machine weight of 10,500 kg (23,149 lb) calls for foundation and rigging checks

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The standard spindle is 18.5 kW (25 HP) at 12,000 rpm. The options column lists 18.5/37 kW (25/50 HP) with 12,000 or 15,000 rpm. All are BBT40. YCM's feature list gives grease lubrication for the standard spindle and oil-air lubrication for the optional ones.
02
X travel is 1,330 mm (52.4 in), Y is 762 mm (30 in) and Z is 700 mm (27.6 in). The table is 1,430 x 760 mm (56.3 x 29.9 in), carries 1,500 kg (3,307 lb), and has T-slots listed as 7 x 18 x 100 mm.
03
They share spindle options, rapids, Z travel and table load. The NXV1680A is the longer machine, with 1,630 mm (64.2 in) of X, 815 mm (32 in) of Y and a weight of 11,000 kg (24,251 lb), against 1,330 mm (52.4 in), 762 mm (30 in) and 10,500 kg (23,149 lb) here.
04
High rigidity, high loading linear guideways are used on the three axes, with 6 slide blocks on the X axis and 4 linear guideways on the Y axis. The Z axis has no counter weight, and all axis motors are direct drive with absolute encoders.
