Overview

The Haas VF-3YT/50 is a 50-taper vertical machining center on a 40 × 26 × 25 in (1,016 × 660 × 635 mm) envelope. Its spindle is geared, not direct-drive: a two-speed gearbox delivers 340 ft-lbf (460 N·m) at 700 rpm from 30 hp (22.4 kW), with a top speed of 7,500 rpm.

The smaller-taper machines around it peak far lower.
