Price estimate
We do not have a price for the YCM NSV66A that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The YCM NSV66A is a short-travel, high-speed vertical machining center with more spindle than its size suggests: 25 kW (33.5 HP) on a BBT40 taper, over travels of 660 mm (25.98 in) in X, 510 mm (20.08 in) in Y and 560 mm (22.05 in) in Z. Rapid traverse is 50 m/min (1,969 ipm) in X and Y and 48 m/min (1,890 ipm) in Z, the fastest listed among YCM's vertical machines.
Its weight tells you how it is built. At 6,500 kg (14,330 lb) it is more than twice as heavy as the NXV600A, a machine of similar travel. YCM describes an extra large delta column, roller type linear guideways on X, Y and Z, wide guideway spacing and double-nut ball screws. Mass and guideway width are what let a machine accelerate hard without the cut showing it.
The IDD spindle, YCM's isolated direct drive design with ceramic bearings, runs to 12,000 rpm, with 15,000 rpm as the option. The magazine is mounted on the column, which YCM says reduces vibration during the tool change. It holds 30 tools, and an automatic door keeps coolant and chips away from them.
The 840 x 560 mm (33.07 x 22.05 in) table is rated for 500 kg (1,102 lb) and has five 18 mm T-slots. Spindle nose to table spans 100~660 mm (3.94~25.98 in). Parts that fit inside that envelope and need a lot of metal removed quickly, particularly in aluminium, are the natural work.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Rapids of 50 m/min (1,969 ipm) in X and Y and 48 m/min (1,890 ipm) in Z
- 25 kW (33.5 HP) BBT40 spindle on a 660 mm (25.98 in) machine
- Roller type linear guideways on all three axes with an extra large delta column
- 30-tool column-mounted magazine with an automatic ATC door as standard
- 560 mm (22.05 in) of Z travel, generous for the X and Y strokes
Limitations
- Table load is 500 kg (1,102 lb)
- No magazine larger than 30 tools is listed
- X travel of 660 mm (25.98 in) limits part length and multi-vise setups
- A 6,500 kg (14,330 lb) machine for this envelope needs more floor capacity than lighter machines of the same travel

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Rapid traverse is 50 m/min (1,969 ipm) in X and Y and 48 m/min (1,890 ipm) in Z, with cutting feed of 1~20,000 mm/min (0.04~787 ipm). The spindle runs to 12,000 rpm as standard and 15,000 rpm as an option.
02
X travel is 660 mm (25.98 in), Y is 510 mm (20.08 in) and Z is 560 mm (22.05 in). The table is 840 x 560 mm (33.07 x 22.05 in), carries 500 kg (1,102 lb) and has T-slots listed as 5 x 18 x 100 mm.
03
The NSV66A is the fast-axis version, with rapids of 50/50/48 m/min. The NSV66AM is listed at 24/24/24 m/min and adds an optional built-in motorized spindle of 20,000 rpm. Travels, table, magazine and the 6,500 kg (14,330 lb) weight are the same on both.
04
The magazine holds 30 tools of up to 6 kg (13.2 lb) each. With adjacent pockets filled a tool can be ø76 x 300 mm, and ø125 x 300 mm without adjacent tools. The magazine sits on the column and has an automatic door.
