How much does the YCM NSV66AM cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the YCM NSV66AM that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
On the NSV66AM, YCM takes the NSV66A frame and tunes it for surface work instead of raw speed. The travels stay at 660 x 510 x 560 mm (25.98 x 20.08 x 22.05 in) and the BBT40 spindle stays at 25 kW (33.5 HP), but rapid traverse is 24 m/min (945 ipm) on all three axes and the spindle list grows.
Three spindles appear in the table. The standard one is the 12,000 rpm IDD unit. A 15,000 rpm version is optional. The third is a built-in motorized spindle with a maximum of 20,000 rpm; the options column gives 22 kW (30 HP) as the lower of the optional power ratings. For the built-in spindle YCM lists a patented cooling system, a floating rear bearing, micro oil-air lubrication and a BBT40 double contact taper. Those are features for running small ball-nose cutters for hours with a stable spindle length.
The structure is the same heavy one: roller type linear guideways on X, Y and Z, an extra large delta column and a total weight of 6,500 kg (14,330 lb) for a machine with an 840 x 560 mm (33.07 x 22.05 in) table. Spindle nose to table is 100~660 mm (3.94~25.98 in).
A 30-tool magazine on the column, with an ATC door as standard, completes the machine. Table load is 500 kg (1,102 lb), which covers most inserts, electrodes and small mold plates that fit the travel.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Optional built-in motorized spindle with a maximum of 20,000 rpm
- Patented spindle cooling, floating rear bearing and micro oil-air lubrication on the built-in spindle
- 25 kW (33.5 HP) on the standard 12,000 rpm spindle
- Heavy 6,500 kg (14,330 lb) structure with roller type linear guideways on all axes
Limitations
- Rapids are 24 m/min (945 ipm), less than half those of the NSV66A
- The 20,000 rpm built-in spindle is an option, and the table lists a lower 22 kW (30 HP) rating among the optional spindles
- Table load is limited to 500 kg (1,102 lb)
- Only a 30-tool magazine is listed

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The standard spindle is a 12,000 rpm IDD unit rated 25 kW (33.5 HP). The options are 15,000 rpm and 20,000 rpm, with optional power listed as 25/22 kW (33.5/30 HP). The 20,000 rpm unit is a built-in motorized spindle with micro oil-air lubrication.
02
For the spindle options. The NSV66A rapids at 50/50/48 m/min and tops out at a 15,000 rpm option. The NSV66AM is listed at 24/24/24 m/min but offers the 20,000 rpm built-in motorized spindle with its own cooling system, which suits long finishing cuts.
03
Travels are 660 mm (25.98 in) in X, 510 mm (20.08 in) in Y and 560 mm (22.05 in) in Z, over an 840 x 560 mm (33.07 x 22.05 in) table rated at 500 kg (1,102 lb). Spindle nose to table is 100~660 mm (3.94~25.98 in).
04
30 tools, each up to 6 kg (13.2 lb). The magazine is column mounted, which YCM says minimizes vibration during the tool change, and a standard ATC door keeps coolant and chips out.
