Price estimate
We do not have a price for the YCM NMV106A that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The YCM NMV106A is the larger of YCM's two boxway vertical machining centers: 1,020 mm (40.16 in) of X travel with 600 mm (23.62 in) in both Y and Z, a BBT40 spindle, and sliding box guideways under every axis.
Compared with the NMV76A the saddle is wider, with an 800 mm Y-axis span, and the table grows to 1,120 x 600 mm (44.09 x 23.62 in) with an 800 kg (1,764 lb) rating. Weight goes up to 6,500 kg (14,330 lb). The rapids do not drop with the size: 36 m/min in X and Y and 24 m/min in Z, quick for a machine on sliding ways.
Shops usually buy a boxway machine for steel, and the spindle options reflect that. Beside the standard 12,000 rpm direct-drive spindle there is an 8,000 rpm spindle with gear transmission rated at 45.04 kgf-m, which YCM recommends for casting and titanium machining, and a 10,000 rpm geared spindle. Each is listed at 18.5 kW (25 HP). A symmetrical headstock spreads thermal expansion evenly, and a cushion takes the tool unclamping force off the spindle bearings.
The magazine starts at 24 tools and expands to 30 or 40. A tool can be ø90 x 300 mm with neighbours or ø140 x 300 mm without, and weigh 6 kg. For spindle nose to table the page prints 80~680 mm and a bracketed 330~930 mm, without saying which configuration the second range describes.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Box guideways on three axes with an 800 mm Y-axis span under the saddle
- Table load of 800 kg (1,764 lb) on a 1,120 x 600 mm (44.09 x 23.62 in) table
- Optional 8,000 rpm gear spindle with 45.04 kgf-m of torque
- Magazine expandable from 24 to 30 or 40 tools
- Symmetrical headstock design to even out thermal expansion
Limitations
- Spindle power is 18.5 kW (25 HP) on every listed spindle
- Tool weight limit is 6 kg, a BBT40 magazine figure that restricts large cutters
- Sliding ways rapid at 36 m/min, below the 48 m/min of the NSV106A on the same travel
- The bracketed spindle nose to table range is not explained

Frequently Asked Questions
01
For the guideways. The NMV106A has box guideways on three axes, which YCM describes as having high shock absorption and wear resistance and as best for heavy cutting. The NSV106A, on linear guideways, is the faster machine, with 48/48/32 m/min rapids.
02
YCM states that the optional 8,000 rpm spindle with gear transmission reaches 45.04 kgf-m and calls it perfect for casting and titanium machining. The standard 12,000 rpm spindle is direct drive. Both are listed at 18.5 kW (25 HP).
03
X travel is 1,020 mm (40.16 in), Y is 600 mm (23.62 in) and Z is 600 mm (23.62 in). The table measures 1,120 x 600 mm (44.09 x 23.62 in) and is rated for 800 kg (1,764 lb). The machine weighs 6,500 kg (14,330 lb).
04
The standard magazine holds 24 tools and can be expanded to 30 or 40. Tool selection is bi-directional and takes the shortest path, and YCM gives the tool change time as 1.8 sec.
