Price estimate
We do not have a price for the YCM NDC4018B-AHC that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
On a four-metre table, turning a workpiece over is a job for two cranes and half a shift. The YCM NDC4018B-AHC avoids it. This double-column machining center has 4,200 mm (165.35 in) of X travel and an automatic head changer that fits a 90° angle head to the ram, so the long sides and the ends of a part are machined where it lies.
The table is 4,000 x 1,500 mm (157.48 x 59.06 in) and takes 12,000 kg (26,455 lb). Typical loads are machine tool beds and columns, injection machine platens, long die shoes and fabricated frames: parts with ways, pads and bolt patterns on several faces that must line up with each other.
YCM builds the angle head and its gearbox in house. The head is octagonal, clamped by pull studs on toothed clutches, lubricated by oil mist and secured against dropping. Both spindle positions are served by the tool changer, and the page describes sensors and sequence scanning that check each change.
The frame is the narrow NDC one, with 1,800 mm (70.87 in) between columns. Y travel is 2,200 mm (86.61 in). As on the other four-metre NDC models, X rapid is 15 m/min, with 20 m/min in Y and 15 m/min in Z. The spindle is a BBT50 gearbox type, 6,000 rpm and 35 kW (46.9 hp). Z travel is 762 mm (30 in), with 1,016 mm (40 in) optional. The magazine holds 40 or 60 tools, and the machine weighs 36,000 kg (79,366 lb).

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel is 4,200 mm (165.35 in) and Y travel is 2,200 mm (86.61 in). Z travel is 762 mm (30 in), or 1,016 mm (40 in) as an option. The table measures 4,000 x 1,500 mm (157.48 x 59.06 in).
02
Yes. YCM describes a vertical / horizontal tool change system that provides fast tool change, with sensors and sequence scanning to ensure stability. The magazine holds 40 tools, or 60 as an option, each up to 20 kg (44 lb).
03
The table is rated for 12,000 kg (26,455 lb), with T-slots listed as 8 x 22 x 180 mm. The machine itself weighs 36,000 kg (79,366 lb), so foundation loading should be planned for both together.
04
The NDC4022B-AHC has a 4,000 x 1,800 mm table rated for 15,000 kg (33,069 lb), 2,200 mm (86.61 in) between columns, 2,800 mm (110.2 in) of Y travel and a weight of 39,000 kg (85,979 lb).
