Overview
The YCM GT-300B is the big-bore two-axis lathe of the GT series. Its spindle has a ø105 mm (ø4.13 in) through hole and a ø91 mm (ø3.58 in) draw bar hole, and it turns parts up to ø440 mm (ø17.32 in) in diameter and 700 mm (27.56 in) long at up to 3,000 rpm.
A through hole that size opens the machine to pipe, tube and large bar, as well as to chucked work. The chuck size row reads 12 and the nose is A2-8. The motor is listed at 11/18.5 kW in the low range and 15/18.5 kW in the high range, so the 18.5 kW peak is there at both ends of the speed range.
YCM fits an 8-station servo turret here, fewer stations than on the smaller models. Fewer, more widely spaced stations leave room for large boring bars and big-shank holders without neighbouring tools fouling a ø440 mm part. Shops that want more tools than that should look at the GT-300MA with its 12 stations.
