YCM GT-200MA — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the YCM GT-200MA that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from YCM or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Live tools are what the YCM GT-200MA adds to the small GT lathe. It has a 12-station radial power turret, a 6" chuck on an A2-5 nose and a 6,000 rpm main spindle, for turned parts up to ø230 mm (ø9.06 in) in diameter and 370 mm (14.57 in) long.

The driven tools turn at up to 4,500 rpm with 2.4 kgf-m of torque. That is enough for cross holes, flats, keyways and small tapped holes, the secondary operations that otherwise send a part to a mill. YCM fits the turret with an extra large 3-piece coupling for milling stiffness and gives the index time between adjacent tools as 0.6 second.

The X axis row shows the difference from the plain lathe. Travel is 177 mm, printed as 115+62, so the slide moves well past the spindle centerline. That over-travel lets a radial live tool reach across the part. Swing over the turret is ø560 mm (ø22.05 in), larger than on the GT-200B, to clear the live tool holders.

Smaller chuck, faster spindle: the machine is set up for bar work and small chucked parts. The draw bar hole is ø45 mm (ø1.77 in) and the spindle bore ø56 mm (ø2.2 in). Motor ratings follow the GT-200B, with 5.5/11 kW in the high range. The slides run on box ways, the tailstock quill is MT-4 with 260 mm (10.24 in) of stroke, and the machine weighs 4,260 kg (9,392 lb).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 12-station radial power turret with live tools to 4,500 rpm
  • Main spindle speed of 6,000 rpm for small-diameter work
  • Adjacent tool index time of 0.6 second
  • X travel of 177 mm (115+62) for cross-centre milling
  • Extra large 3-piece turret coupling for milling

Limitations

  • Live tool torque is 2.4 kgf-m, enough for light milling and drilling only
  • Chuck size is 6" and turning diameter ø230 mm (ø9.06 in)
  • Bar capacity is ø45 mm (ø1.77 in) through the draw bar
  • No Y axis and no sub-spindle in the table

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What milling capability does the GT-200MA have?

A radial power turret with 12 stations. The live tool motor speed is 4,500 rpm and the torque is 2.4 kgf-m. YCM fits a 3-piece coupling to the turret and gives the adjacent tool index time as 0.6 second.

02 How does the GT-200MA differ from the GT-200B?

The GT-200B is a plain two-axis lathe with an 8" chuck, 4,500 rpm and a 10-station servo turret. The GT-200MA has a 6" chuck, 6,000 rpm, a 12-station radial power turret with live tools and a ø230 mm (ø9.06 in) turning diameter.

03 What is the turning capacity?

Maximum turning diameter is ø230 mm (ø9.06 in) and maximum turning length is 370 mm (14.57 in). Swing over the turret is ø560 mm (ø22.05 in), and Z travel equals the turning length.

04 What bar diameter passes through the spindle?

The hole through the draw bar is ø45 mm (ø1.77 in) and the hole through the spindle is ø56 mm (ø2.2 in). A bar feeder is an option on the GT series, together with a part catcher and conveyor.
