YCM TC-46/2300 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the YCM TC-46/2300 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from YCM or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The YCM TC-46/2300 turns shafts up to 2,300 mm (90.55 in) long and ø750 mm (ø29.53 in) in diameter. It belongs to YCM's box-way heavy lathe family, with a 15" chuck, an A2-11 spindle nose and a 30/37 kW (40/50 HP) gearhead spindle.

At this length the questions change from capacity to handling. A shaft over two metres long and several hundred millimetres thick is loaded by crane, and it sags and whips if it is not supported. The tailstock has 2,125 mm (83.66 in) of quill stroke along the bed and clamps to the guideways with two cylinders. Steady rests are the normal answer for slender work; the page does not list them, so they need to be specified with YCM.

YCM lowers the Z rapid as the bed grows. It is 15 m/min (590.55 ipm) here, lower than on the two shorter beds, while X stays at 16 m/min (629.92 ipm). Cutting feed is unchanged at 1~10,000 mm/min.

The structure is one casting with a 45 degree slant and a torque tube, on a box way base that YCM gives as 950mm wide. Chips fall clear of the spindle into a large space below. The spindle bore is ø130 mm (ø5.12 in) and the draw bar hole ø117 mm (ø4.61 in). The servo turret carries 10 tools, or 12 as an option, and an automatic tool pre-setter can be added to shorten setup. The machine weighs 14,300 kg (31,526 lb).
