Overview

The Vision Wide SV-1480 is where the SV series gets a bigger spindle motor as its base rating. The power row reads 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp), with 15 / 18 kW (20.1 / 24.1 hp) in brackets after it. On the SV-1470 below, 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) is itself the bracketed figure.

The frame is larger to match: 1,400 mm (55.1 in) of X, 800 mm (31.5 in) of Y and 700 mm (27.6 in) of Z, over a 1,600×750 mm (63.0×29.5 in) table that carries 1,500 kg (3,307 lb). Rapids are 30 / 30 / 24 m/min.

Two more rows change at this size. Tool capacity is listed as 24 / 32 / 40 pcs, adding a third magazine size that the smaller SV models do not show. And the spindle speed row gains an entry, "G:6,000 rpm", beside the 10,000 rpm standard and the 12,000 / 15,000 rpm versions. The page does not spell out what G stands for, so treat it as a question for the sales contact, not as a confirmed gear spindle.

Note the table length. At 1,600 mm (63.0 in) it is longer than the X travel, and it is the same table the SV-1680 uses with 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of travel. A shop that will machine the full length of that table should look at the SV-1680.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What spindle power does the Vision Wide SV-1480 have?

The table lists 11 / 15 kW (14.8 / 20.1 hp) as the continuous and short-time rating, and 15 / 18 kW (20.1 / 24.1 hp) in brackets. That is one step above the SV-1470, whose base rating is 7.5 / 11 kW (10.1 / 14.8 hp).

02 What does G:6,000 rpm mean on the SV-1480?

Vision Wide's table prints "G:6,000 rpm" in the spindle speed row after 10,000 rpm (STD) and 12,000 / 15,000 rpm, without a legend. The accessory lists for the SV series name only #40 direct driven spindles, so ask the maker what the G entry refers to.

03 How many tools can the SV-1480 magazine hold?

The specification row lists 24 / 32 / 40 pcs. The series accessory lists name a 24 tools magazine with arm type ATC as standard and a 32 tools magazine as an option; the 40 tool size appears only in the table for this model and the SV-1680.

04 What are the travels of the SV-1480?

X travel is 1,400 mm (55.1 in), Y is 800 mm (31.5 in) and Z is 700 mm (27.6 in). The table measures 1,600×750 mm (63.0×29.5 in) and takes 1,500 kg (3,307 lb).
