Vision Wide XMS-37 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide XMS-37 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Vision Wide XMS-37 passes a wider part than its Y travel would suggest. Maximum workpiece width is 4,100 mm (161.4 in) against 3,700 mm (145.7 in) of Y. On the XML-37, which has the same Y travel, the width is 3,600 mm (141.7 in).

So the columns of the XMS stand further apart for a given travel. A part can be wider than the spindle's reach, as long as the features to be machined lie within the Y stroke. Frames with wide flanges or outriggers, where only the central region is machined, are the obvious case.

The XMS is also the taller of the two. Z travel is 2,000 mm (78.7 in) as standard, with 1,500 mm, 1,800 mm and 2,200 mm as options, where the XML starts at 1,500 mm. Both use a 580x580 mm (22.8x22.8 in) ram.

X travel is built to length within 8,200(+1m)~60,200 mm, and the fixed table takes 5,000 kg/m2. The maker's XMS table does not give a usable table size.

The spindle is a 4,000rpm 2-step gear type with 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp); 6,000 rpm gear and 8,000rpm and 12,000rpm built-in spindles are options. Rapid traverse is 20/20/12 m/min.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Maximum workpiece width of 4,100 mm (161.4 in) on 3,700 mm (145.7 in) of Y travel
  • Z travel of 2,000 mm (78.7 in) as standard
  • 580x580 mm (22.8x22.8 in) ram
  • Fixed table at 5,000 kg/m2

Limitations

  • Y travel is shorter than the workpiece width, so the outer edges of a full-width part are out of reach
  • Table size is not printed cleanly in the maker's table
  • Y axis linear scale is optional

Best For

Frames with wide flanges machined in their central region Tall parts needing 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of Z Long structures on a floor table

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How wide a workpiece fits the Vision Wide XMS-37?

4,100 mm (161.4 in). Y travel is 3,700 mm (145.7 in), so the part can be wider than the area the spindle reaches.

02 How does the XMS-37 differ from the XML-37?

Both have 3,700 mm (145.7 in) of Y and a 580x580 mm (22.8x22.8 in) ram. The XMS-37 takes a 4,100 mm (161.4 in) wide part and has 2,000 mm (78.7 in) of standard Z; the XML-37 takes 3,600 mm (141.7 in) and starts at 1,500 mm of Z.

03 What Z travel does the XMS-37 have?

2,000 mm (78.7 in) as standard, with 1,500 mm, 1,800 mm and 2,200 mm as options. With the standard stroke the spindle nose to table distance is 500~2,500 mm (19.7~98.4 in).

04 What spindle is on the XMS-37?

A 4,000rpm 2-step gear type spindle as standard, with 22/26 kW (29.5/34.9 hp). Options are a 6,000 rpm box way type 2-step gear spindle and 8,000rpm or 12,000rpm built-in spindles.
