How much does the Vision Wide SM-5122 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Vision Wide SM-5122 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Vision Wide SM-5122 is a five-metre double-column machining center: 5,100 mm (200.8 in) of X travel, 2,200 mm (86.6 in) of Y, and a 5,300×2,100 mm (208.7×82.7 in) table for 18,000 kg (39,683 lb).
Vision Wide puts weight on positioning accuracy in its description of the SM, and on a bed this long the feedback system decides how much of that survives. X/Y/Z axis linear scale appears on the option list, not the standard one. Over five metres of ballscrew, screw growth with temperature is the main source of position error, and a scale on the axis removes it from the result. A thermal compensation system is listed as an option too.
The same reasoning applies to setup. Auto workpiece measurement and auto tool measurement are optional, and on a table that holds several parts they save the most time.
Chip handling is standard: a screw type chip conveyor on table sides feeding a steel belt chip conveyor and water tank. The spindle is the 6,000 rpm geared unit with 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp).
