Overview
Sixteen tonnes on a five-axis machine: the Vision Wide FA-4033 has a 4,000×2,450 mm (157.5×96.5 in) table rated for 16,000 kg (35,273 lb), with 4,100 mm (161.4 in) of X travel and 3,300 mm (129.9 in) of Y.
An X axis ball screw supporter is part of the standard build. The accessory list makes it available for the FA-xx33 models and for X travels over 4 m, and this model meets both conditions. Supporting the screw along its length is what lets a long axis run at speed without the screw whipping; the X rapid here is 18 m/min.
The head and its safeguards are common to the series. A 2-axis head central control and monitoring protection system watches for spindle cutting vibration, spindle and motor overload and overload of the B/C rotating motors. It is there because a collision or an overload in a tilting head is expensive, and on a machine that runs long programs unattended the monitoring is the first line of defence.
