Takamaz Takamaz XT-6

The Takamaz XT-6 is a compact single-spindle CNC precision lathe with a 6-inch chuck, designed for high-speed automated production of small turned parts. As the smaller sibling to the popular XT-8, the XT-6 shares the same production-optimized DNA but targets shops working with parts in the 6-inch chuck range where the additional capacity of an 8-inch machine is unnecessary and the higher spindle speeds of the smaller platform deliver faster cycle times.

The standard configuration features a 4,500 RPM spindle (upgradable to 6,000 RPM) with 7.5/5.5 kW of power through a 75 mm bearing bore. An optional 8-inch chuck with 85 mm bearing bore and 11/7.5 kW motor is available for shops that need the additional workpiece capacity. The 8-station turret handles standard turning operations, with a 12-station option for more complex parts. Rapid traverse rates of 18 m/min on X and 24 m/min on Z are among the fastest in the compact lathe class.

With 120 mm of X-travel and 280 mm of Z-travel, the XT-6 provides a well-proportioned work envelope for chucking work on parts up to approximately 150 mm diameter. The machine includes Takamaz's thermal displacement compensation system as standard, maintaining dimensional consistency across temperature changes during long production runs. The compact 1,360 x 1,370 mm footprint is nearly square, making it easy to arrange multiple machines in efficient cell configurations.

The Fanuc 0i-TF Plus control provides a familiar and reliable programming environment, with Takamaz's conversational overlay simplifying setup for common part families. Like all XT-series machines, the XT-6 is designed from the ground up for gantry loader integration, enabling lights-out production that maximizes the machine's throughput advantage.
