Overview
The Takamaz XTL-8 is a long-bed turning lathe with a gantry loader built in as standard: 600 mm (23.6 in) of Z and a maximum turning length of 600 mm (23.6 in), 190 mm (7.5 in) of X, an 8 in collet (10 in optional) and a standard spindle rated 15 / 11 kW on a Ø100 mm bearing at 4,000 rpm. The loader handles parts up to 75 mm in diameter, 450 mm long and 5 kg.
It is a shaft machine. Against the XTL-8MY and XTL-8MYS, which list 550 mm of Z and an optional loader, it has the longer stroke and a standard loader, so it arrives ready for unattended production of slender parts: drive shafts, pins, rods and long sleeves. The 75 mm by 450 mm loader envelope is the figure that decides whether a part qualifies for automatic loading; longer parts can still be turned within the 600 mm stroke but must be loaded another way.
The spindle comes in three specifications. Standard is 15 / 11 kW with the Ø100 mm bearing at 4,000 rpm. One option keeps that rating and bearing and raises the speed to 5,000 rpm. The other fits a Ø120 mm bearing at 3,000 rpm with the same 15 / 11 kW. The turret is 8-station as standard with a 12-station option, and the table lists no live tooling.
Rapids are 18 m/min on X and 24 m/min on Z, and the machine stands on 1,840 × 1,860 mm (W × L). If shafts need keyways or cross-holes, the XTL-8MY adds a Y axis of +35 / -40 mm and 12 live tools, at the cost of a shorter 550 mm (21.7 in) Z and a loader that becomes optional.
