SW BA W06-11 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the SW BA W06-11 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from SW or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The SW BA W06-11 is the single-spindle, single-table model of the BA W06 line, SW's linear-drive machines in the 600 mm class. One spindle has the whole X axis to itself: 1,150 mm (45.3 in), with 630 mm (24.8 in) of Y and 510 mm (20.1 in) of Z.

That X travel is nearly twice what each spindle gets on the twin-spindle models, and it defines the machine. Long parts such as battery trays, wide gearbox housings or coupling housings can be machined in one clamping without being split between two work spaces.

Three spindle interfaces are listed. HSK-A63 comes with a 1-17,500 rpm range, 35 kW and 80 Nm. HSK-A80 and HSK-A100 come with 1-12,500 rpm, 42 kW and 200 Nm, both at 10% ED. A 10% duty cycle is a short-term rating, so the continuous figures should be requested for any process that leans on the larger spindles.

SW calls the BA W06 the fastest machining center of its kind and credits the linear drives. On a single-spindle machine with long axis moves the benefit shows in positioning time between features that are far apart. SW's table prints the interference circle for this model with an unclear figure, so that row is not reproduced here. Confirm it with SW along with the magazine capacity.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,150 mm (45.3 in) of X travel for a single spindle
  • Linear drive technology; SW calls the BA W06 the fastest machining center of its kind
  • HSK-A63, HSK-A80 or HSK-A100 spindle, up to 42 kW and 200 Nm at 10% ED
  • 17,500 rpm with the HSK-A63 spindle

Limitations

  • One spindle, one part per cycle
  • The 42 kW and 200 Nm figures are rated at 10% ED only
  • Single work table, so loading stops the spindle
  • SW's page gives no clean interference-circle figure for this model

Best For

Battery trays and other long aluminium parts Wide gearbox and coupling housings Parts that need more than the 600 mm of X of the twin-spindle models Low-volume or pre-series work on the BA W06 platform

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the X travel of the BA W06-11?

1,150 mm (45.3 in). Y is 630 mm (24.8 in) and Z is 510 mm (20.1 in). The twin-spindle BA W06-21 has the same Y and Z but 600 mm (23.6 in) of X per spindle.

02 How does the BA W06-11 differ from the BA W06-12?

Both have one spindle and the same travels. In SW's naming scheme the last digit is the number of work tables, so the BA W06-11 has one and the BA W06-12 has two. SW lists a Ø 675 x 1,430 mm interference circle for the BA W06-12.

03 Which spindles can the BA W06-11 be fitted with?

HSK-A63 with a 1-17,500 rpm range, 35 kW and 80 Nm, or HSK-A80 or HSK-A100 with a 1-12,500 rpm range, 42 kW and 200 Nm. SW rates the 42 kW and 200 Nm figures at 10% ED.

04 Why does the BA W06 use linear drives?

For acceleration. SW's feature list names highest dynamics due to linear drive technology and calls the machine the fastest machining center of its kind. With 1,150 mm (45.3 in) of X to cross, fast traverses between features cut non-productive time.
