Price estimate
We do not have a price for the SW BA W03-22 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The SW BA W03-22 is the only model on SW's BA W03 page: a linear-drive machining center with two spindles and two work tables in the 300 mm class. Each spindle has 300 mm (11.8 in) of X, 475 mm (18.7 in) of Y and 380 mm (15.0 in) of Z.
Unusually, the spindle distance is a choice. The standard is 300 mm (11.8 in), and SW marks 320 mm (12.6 in) as optional, with X travel growing by the same amount. That option is for parts or fixtures that are a little too wide for the standard pitch.
The standard spindle is HSK-A63 with a speed range of 1-17,500 rpm, 35 kW and 80 Nm. An HSK-E50 spindle with 18 kW and 11.5 Nm is listed as an option for high-speed work. SW's page misprints the unit of the speed for that option, so the figure is not repeated here.
SW's feature list adds one line the other small models do not have: independent Z axes. Each spindle can then be corrected in Z on its own, which helps hold depth tolerances on two parts at once when tools or fixtures differ slightly in length. Typical parts, per SW, are scroll parts, brake cylinders, implants, valve blocks and aluminium housings.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Independent Z axes for the two spindles, per SW's feature list
- Spindle distance of 300 mm (11.8 in), or 320 mm (12.6 in) as an option
- HSK-A63 spindles with 35 kW and 80 Nm at up to 17,500 rpm
- Linear drive technology and two work tables
- Optional HSK-E50 spindle for small tools
Limitations
- Z travel is 380 mm (15.0 in)
- The optional HSK-E50 spindle has only 11.5 Nm
- Fixtures must fit a Ø 475 x 830 mm interference circle
- SW's page prints the HSK-E50 speed with a misprinted unit, and gives no magazine capacity

Frequently Asked Questions
01
SW lists independent Z axes among the flexibility features of the BA W03. Each of the two spindles has its own Z movement, so tool-length and fixture differences between the two sides can be compensated separately instead of accepting one shared depth for both parts.
02
300 mm (11.8 in) as standard. SW's table shows 320 mm (12.6 in) in brackets and marks it optional. X travel is given the same way: 300 mm, or 320 mm with the option.
03
The standard is an HSK-A63 spindle with a 1-17,500 rpm speed range, 35 kW and 80 Nm per spindle. An HSK-E50 spindle with 18 kW and 11.5 Nm is marked optional. SW's table prints the speed of the HSK-E50 version with a misprinted unit, so ask SW for it.
04
Both are two-spindle, two-table machines near a 300 mm pitch. The BA W03-22 has linear drives, 475 mm (18.7 in) of Y, 380 mm (15.0 in) of Z and 35 kW with 80 Nm per spindle. The BA 322 has 450 mm (17.7 in) of Y, 375 mm (14.8 in) of Z and 32 kW with 72 Nm.
