Price estimate
We do not have a price for the SW BA W06-21 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The SW BA W06-21 is a twin-spindle linear-drive machining center with one work table. Two spindles 600 mm (23.6 in) apart each cover 600 mm (23.6 in) of X, 630 mm (24.8 in) of Y and 510 mm (20.1 in) of Z.
Its distinguishing figure is the swing. The single table gives the 4th axis an interference circle of Ø 1,000 x 1,430 mm, where the two-table BA W06-22 has Ø 675 x 1,430 mm. A metre of swing takes deep parts such as gearbox and coupling housings, or fixtures that hold a part on several faces.
SW lists independent Z and X axes for the BA W06. On a twin-spindle machine that means the two spindles need not move as one rigid pair. Each can be offset to its own part, which helps when castings vary or when two fixtures do not sit at exactly the nominal distance.
The spindle menu has three interfaces. HSK-A63 runs to 17,500 rpm with 35 kW and 80 Nm per spindle. HSK-A80 and HSK-A100 run to 12,500 rpm with 42 kW and 200 Nm per spindle at 10% ED. For aluminium housings the HSK-A63 spindle is the usual fit, and the larger interfaces come into play for long boring tools. The part change happens with the spindles stopped, since there is one table.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ø 1,000 x 1,430 mm interference circle on a twin-spindle machine
- Independent Z and X axes, per SW's BA W06 feature list
- Two spindles 600 mm (23.6 in) apart with 600 x 630 x 510 mm of travel each
- HSK-A63, HSK-A80 or HSK-A100, up to 17,500 rpm or 200 Nm at 10% ED
Limitations
- Single work table: the spindles stop for loading
- 42 kW and 200 Nm are rated at 10% ED
- Z travel is 510 mm (20.1 in)
- SW's table lists no magazine capacity or axis speeds

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Swing. The BA W06-21 has one work table and a Ø 1,000 x 1,430 mm interference circle. The BA W06-22 has two tables and Ø 675 x 1,430 mm. Travel, spindle distance and spindle options are identical in SW's table.
02
SW lists independent Z and X axes among the flexibility features of the BA W06. The two spindles can be positioned separately in those axes, so each part gets its own correction instead of sharing one offset across a fixed 600 mm (23.6 in) pitch.
03
Three interfaces. HSK-A63 with a 1-17,500 rpm range, 35 kW and 80 Nm per spindle. HSK-A80 or HSK-A100 with a 1-12,500 rpm range, 42 kW and 200 Nm per spindle at 10% ED.
04
600 mm (23.6 in) in X, 630 mm (24.8 in) in Y and 510 mm (20.1 in) in Z. The spindle distance is 600 mm (23.6 in), so the two envelopes adjoin.
