How much does the Sharp SVX-300-F cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Sharp SVX-300-F that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Sharp's SVX-300-F puts an 11.8 in (300 mm) rotary platter on a tilting trunnion inside a C-frame machining center with 29.92 in (760 mm) of X, 23.62 in (600 mm) of Y and 19.69 in (500 mm) of Z. The A axis tilts from -120 to +30° and the C axis rotates 360°, so the spindle can reach five sides of a part and undercut past horizontal on one side.
Payload is 330 lb (150 kg). That, more than the travels, sets the class of work: fixtures plus part have to stay under it, and the trunnion itself occupies much of the X stroke. The table row lists the A-axis cradle at 9.84 in (250 mm) against the larger C-axis platter, and four T-slots, 0.55 wide, set at 90 degrees.
Rotary accuracy is published, which helps when quoting toleranced 5-axis work: +/- 15 arc sec positioning on A and C with 6 arc sec repeatability. Linear positioning is 0.0002 in (0.005 mm). Scales are not part of the base machine; 3 axes linear scale by MITUTOYO appears on the options list.
The spindle matches the smaller SVX-160-F: 12,000 rpm, CAT Big plus 40 taper, 10/15 hp (7.5/11 kW) through a direct coupling. The frame does not. Ball screws grow to 1.57 in (40 mm), the coolant tank to 63.2 gal (240 L), and the machine weighs 16,500 lb (7500 kg) on a floor space 118.1 in wide by 91.7 in deep. Supply is 220V three-phase at 35 kVA.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- A-axis tilt of -120 to +30° with full 360° C rotation
- Published rotary accuracy: +/- 15 arc sec positioning, 6 arc sec repeatability
- 330 lb (150 kg) payload on an 11.8 in (300 mm) C-axis table
- 43.3 in (1100 mm) door opening for loading fixtures
- BLUM tool setter and touch probe are standard on the machine
Limitations
- Only 2 flood coolant nozzles are listed

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X 29.92 in (760 mm), Y 23.62 in (600 mm) and Z 19.69 in (500 mm). The A axis tilts -120 to +30° and the C axis rotates 360°. With A at zero the spindle nose is 3.94 to 23.62 in (100-600 mm) from the table.
02
Sharp's table gives A/C axis position accuracy of +/- 15 arc sec and repeatability of 6 arc sec. For the linear axes it gives 0.0002 in (0.005 mm) positioning and 0.00012 in (0.003 mm) repeatability. Sharp describes the trunnion as built on roller cam bearing components for zero backlash movement.
03
The SVX-300-F carries 330 lb (150 kg) where the SVX-160-F carries 132 lb (60 kg), and its X and Y travels are 29.92 in (760 mm) and 23.62 in (600 mm) against 25.2 in (640 mm) and 17.1 in (435 mm). Spindle, tool changer and control are the same. It weighs 16,500 lb (7500 kg), nearly twice as much.
04
Coolant Through Spindle (CTS) prepped is a standard accessory. A CTS pump is optional, and Sharp also offers 70 bar CTS prepped at factory, which it describes as a FANUC hollow motor shaft upgrade.
