How much does the ROMI GL 350 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the ROMI GL 350 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The ROMI GL 350 is where the GL range changes frame. Z travel doubles to 1,200 mm (47.2 in), the tailstock travels 1,160 mm (45.7 in) and the machine weighs 7,300 kg (16,093 lb) without chip conveyor. It is a shaft machine in a way the two smaller sizes are not.
Maximum cutting diameter is 410 mm (16.1 in) for the T version and 350 mm (13.7 in) for M and Y. The spindle is a built-in motor unit rated 34 hp / 25 kW, offered with an A2-8” nose at 3,000 rpm or an A2-11” nose at 2,500 rpm. Bores are 104 mm (4.1 in) and 116 mm (4.56 in), which puts bar capacity at 76 or 89 mm (3 or 3.5 in) and 89 or 102 mm (3.5 or 4 in) respectively. Chucks run from 254 mm (10 in) up to 450 mm (17.7 in) on the A2-11” headstock.
Both driven-tool versions use a BMT 65 turret here; there is no VDI disc on this size. Live tools take ER-32 collets and run at 0 ~ 4,000 rpm. The Y version gets ± 75 mm (3 in) of Y travel, half as much again as the ± 50 mm of the GL 250 and GL 300, a figure that matters for keyways and off-centre drilling on large shafts.
The tailstock has a built-in live centre instead of an MT-4 socket and applies up to 700 kgf. Romi lists no S version for the GL 350, so there is no second headstock; second-side work means reclamping. Floor area is 4,230 x 2,360 mm (166.5 x 92.9 in) for T and M versions, and installed power is 45 kVA. The control is the Fanuc 0i-TF Plus i-HMI.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,200 mm (47.2 in) of Z travel with a servodriven tailstock that applies up to 700 kgf
- A2-11” headstock option with a 116 mm (4.56 in) bore and up to 102 mm (4 in) bar capacity
- 34 hp / 25 kW built-in motor spindle
- BMT 65 turret on both M and Y versions
- Y travel of ± 75 mm (3 in) on the Y version
Limitations
- No S version: the catalogue offers no second headstock on this size
- Spindle speed is 3,000 rpm at most, 2,500 rpm with the A2-11” nose
- Driven-tool versions turn 350 mm (13.7 in), not the 410 mm (16.1 in) of the T version
- At 7,300 kg (16,093 lb) and 4,230 x 2,360 mm (166.5 x 92.9 in) it needs far more floor than the GL 300

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Z travel is 1,200 mm (47.2 in) and the tailstock travels 1,160 mm (45.7 in). That is twice the Z travel of the GL 250 and GL 300, which both list 600 mm (23.6 in). The tailstock has a built-in live centre and a maximum axial force of 700 kgf.
02
An A2-8” headstock at 3,000 rpm with a 104 mm (4.1 in) bore, or an A2-11” headstock at 2,500 rpm with a 116 mm (4.56 in) bore. Both are built-in motor spindles and Romi rates the main motor at 34 hp / 25 kW in intermittent regime.
03
No. The catalogue lists T, M and Y versions for the GL 350 and reserves the S versions, with a second headstock, for the GL 250 and GL 300. If the part needs back-end work in the same cycle, look at those smaller sizes.
04
M and Y versions have a 12-station BMT 65 turret. Driven tool holders use ER-32 collets (Ø2 - Ø20mm) and run at 0 ~ 4,000 rpm. Fixed tools are 25 x 25 mm (1” x 1”) square or Ø 40 mm (1 1/2”) round.
