Overview

At up to 3,000 mm of machining range, the Röders RXU2600 is the largest machine Röders lists. Like the RXU2000 it is offered in two versions. One covers 2,600 mm x 1,800 mm x 800 mm (102.4 x 70.9 x 31.5 in) over a table of 2,600 mm x 1,750 mm. The other covers 3,000 mm x 1,400 mm x 800 mm (118.1 x 55.1 x 31.5 in) over a table of 2,900 mm x 1,750 mm.

Workpiece weight is 6,000 kg (13,228 lb) on either version. The T-slots are 22 mm wide at a distance of 170 mm. Between spindle nose and table there is 1,000 mm on the 2,600 mm version and 950 mm on the 3,000 mm version, enough for a stacked die set.

Why build a high-speed machine this large? Röders gives the answer itself: large progressive dies, and high-precision machining of very large workpieces when the optional temperature control of the machining area is combined with temperature-controlled grinding oil. Strip-fed tools for long parts are the obvious fit for 3,000 mm of travel, and crane loading from both sides makes handling them realistic.

Spindle and tooling are unchanged from the rest of the series: 24,000 rpm, 67 Nm (S1), HSK A63, tools up to 35 mm, 86 places in the chain changer and a measuring laser beside the table. Feeds reach 60,000 mm/min. The required space is W 5,510 mm x L 7,965 mm, depending on configuration, by H 4,350 mm. Röders gives the weight of the 3,000 mm version as about 55.0 t.
