Röders RPT450 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Röders RPT450 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Röders or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Röders RPT450 is the smallest 3-axis machine in the RPT series, the line Röders builds for milling, grinding and measuring on one machine. Its machining range is 470 mm x 490 mm x 280 mm (18.5 x 19.3 x 11.0 in) over a 450 mm x 360 mm (17.7 x 14.2 in) table with 14 mm T-slots.

Note that the range is larger than the table in both directions. Röders does this on purpose in the 3-axis RPT machines: the machine can mill the surface of its own table with a fine finishing cut, so flatness and parallelism are produced by the axes that will later cut the part. For jig grinding work, where the reference surface decides the result, that is a real advantage.

Röders names two technologies as the core of the series. PRECITEMP is its thermal stabilisation, intended to hold precision when workshop temperatures fluctuate. NANOTOL is aimed at sub-micrometre precision in the linear axes. The motors are stronger than on the RXP machines, which Röders ties to higher stroke frequencies in jig grinding. Auxiliary equipment for grinding stands next to the machine table.

The standard spindle gives 42,000 rpm and 15 kW (20.1 hp) on HSK E40, the biggest interface for this size, with tools up to 16 mm. The changer has 31 or 75 places. Clamping is by Erowa UPC, System 3R Dynafix or Parotec Power Grip 160, and the table takes 200 kg (441 lb). The machine weighs about 8.0 t on W 2,835 mm x L 2,700 mm x H 2,720 mm, with the electrical cabinet standing separately beside it.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Milling, grinding and measuring on one machine, with all lubricants available
  • The machining range of 470 mm x 490 mm x 280 mm exceeds the 450 mm x 360 mm table, so the machine can mill its own table flat
  • 42,000 rpm, 15 kW (20.1 hp) HSK E40 spindle
  • Tool changer with 31 or 75 places and an integrated measuring laser
  • Prepared for Erowa UPC, System 3R Dynafix or Parotec Power Grip 160 clamping

Limitations

  • HSK E40 is the biggest spindle interface; tools stop at 16 mm in diameter
  • 200 kg (441 lb) workpiece weight
  • About 8.0 t, heavy for a machine with a 450 mm x 360 mm table
  • The electrical cabinet stands next to the machine and needs its own floor space

Best For

Jig grinding and hard milling of small die components in one clamping Small mould inserts and punches on EROWA UPC pallets Shops whose temperature is not held constant Precision parts up to 200 kg

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Can the Röders RPT450 grind as well as mill?

Yes. Röders lists milling, grinding and measuring for the RPT450 models, with all lubricants available. On the 3-axis machine, auxiliary equipment such as for grinding is positioned next to the machine table.

02 What is the working area of the RPT450?

The machining range is 470 mm x 490 mm x 280 mm (18.5 x 19.3 x 11.0 in). The table is 450 mm x 360 mm, and there is up to 450 mm (17.7 in) between spindle nose and table. Maximum workpiece weight is 200 kg (441 lb).

03 How does the RPT450 differ from the RXP500?

Both use a 42,000 rpm HSK E40 spindle for tools up to 16 mm. The RXP500 has 14 kW and feeds up to 42,000 mm/min; the RPT450 has 15 kW and feeds up to 60,000 mm/min, and Röders lists grinding and measuring for it. The RXP500 carries more, at 400 kg.

04 What tool changer does the RPT450 have?

The technical data give 31 or 75 places for HSK E40, with a larger changer available as an option. A measuring laser is integrated for the tools.
