Röders RPT800 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Röders RPT800 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Röders or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Röders RPT800 is the largest 3-axis RPT machine, and Röders singles out two things about it: an extra-long stroke in the Z-axis, also suitable for deep drilling, and very large guideways. The machining range is 840 mm x 635 mm x 500 mm (33.1 x 25.0 x 19.7 in) and the workpiece can weigh up to 800 kg (1,764 lb).

Set it beside the RXP801 and the reasoning shows. The two share a 796 mm x 596 mm table and an 800 kg limit. The RXP801 has a machining range of 800 mm x 635 mm x 400 mm and weighs about 8.4 t. The RPT800 adds travel in two directions and weighs about 10.5 t. That extra mass sits in the structure and guideways that Röders describes as large and therefore rigid.

There is 660 mm (26.0 in) between spindle nose and table. With 500 mm in the third axis, cooling bores and ejector holes in a mould plate can be drilled on the same machine that mills and grinds it, which removes a transfer to a separate drilling machine and the re-clamping error that comes with it.

The standard spindle is 36,000 rpm with 15 kW (20.1 hp) on HSK E50, for tools up to 20 mm; spindles up to HSK A63 are available. The changer has 40 or 84 places for HSK E50. Röders lists milling, grinding and measuring for the machine. For clamping it offers individual solutions up to 600 mm width. Required space is W 3,220 mm x L 3,250 mm x H 3,130 mm.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Extra-long Z-axis stroke: 500 mm in a machining range of 840 mm x 635 mm x 500 mm (33.1 x 25.0 x 19.7 in)
  • Suitable for deep drilling as well as milling, grinding and measuring
  • 800 kg (1,764 lb) workpiece weight on a 796 mm x 596 mm table
  • 36,000 rpm, 15 kW (20.1 hp) HSK E50 spindle; up to HSK A63 on request
  • Tool changer with 40 or 84 places for HSK E50

Limitations

  • Weighs about 10.5 t, more than the RXP801 with the same table
  • Standard tools limited to 20 mm in diameter
  • Clamping is by individual solutions rather than a listed standard chuck
  • Chip conveyor is additional to the standard chip box

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is special about the Z-axis of the Röders RPT800?

Röders describes it as an extra-long stroke, also suitable for deep drilling. The machining range is 840 mm x 635 mm x 500 mm (33.1 x 25.0 x 19.7 in), and the maximum distance between spindle nose and table is 660 mm (26.0 in).

02 How does the RPT800 compare with the RXP801?

Both have a 796 mm x 596 mm table, an 800 kg limit and a 36,000 rpm HSK E50 standard spindle. The RXP801 has a machining range of 800 mm x 635 mm x 400 mm. The RPT800 has 840 mm x 635 mm x 500 mm, and Röders lists grinding and measuring for it.

03 How many tools does the RPT800 hold?

40 or 84 places for HSK E50, with a larger changer available as an option. A measuring laser is integrated for the tools.

04 What does the RPT800 weigh?

About 10.5 t, on a required space of W 3,220 mm x L 3,250 mm x H 3,130 mm (126.8 x 128.0 x 123.2 in). The 5-axis RPT800DSH weighs about 12.5 t and is taller, at H 3,410 mm.
