Overview

The Quaser MF700 (Flex) stretches the MF700 to 1680 mm (66.14") of X travel and puts two work platforms under one spindle: a rotary table and a fixed table. Quaser calls this a dual platform design and lets the user choose rotary or fixed table for each job.

The table entry reads 700 x 550 / Ø650 mm (27.56" x 21.65 / Ø25.59"). The first pair of figures is the fixed table and the Ø650 mm is the rotary one. Having both changes how a 5-axis machine is used. Second operations that need only three axes no longer occupy the rotary table, and a part can be finished across both stations: five-sided work on the rotary side, then the remaining face clamped flat on the fixed side.

It also suits fixtures that a rotary table cannot take. Quaser's feature list mentions stable support for heavy or specialized parts and multiple fixtures set up at the same time. With more than double the X stroke of the standard MF700, which has 820 mm (32.28"), one station can be loaded while the other is cutting, if guarding and the control allow it. Ask Quaser how the work zones are divided.

The rest of the specification stays close to the base machine. Y travel is 570 mm (22.44"), Z is 530 mm (20.87"), and the rotary side takes parts up to Ø700 x H500 mm (Ø27.56" x H19.69") with 500 kg (1102.30 lbs) of table load. The 40 taper spindle is listed at 12K ~ 24K and the magazine holds 48 tools as standard.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1680 mm (66.14") of X travel, against 820 mm (32.28") on the standard MF700
  • Rotary table and fixed table under one spindle; Quaser lets the user choose either
  • Spindle speed range listed as 12K ~ 24K
  • Multiple fixtures can be set up at the same time, per Quaser's feature list
  • 48 tools as standard, up to 300 mm (11.81") long

Limitations

  • Y and Z travel stay at 570 mm (22.44") and 530 mm (20.87") despite the long X
  • Quaser's page gives only short feature headings, with no rotary axis ranges or speeds
  • The 500 kg (1102.30 lbs) load figure is printed once; no separate rating is given for the fixed table
  • Spindle power and torque are not published

Best For

Parts finished in two clampings, 5-axis and 3-axis, on one machine Long or awkward parts that need a fixed table beside the rotary table Mixed production where rotary and fixed setups alternate Several fixtures kept set up for flexible scheduling

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the difference between the MF700 (Flex) and the MF700?

The MF700 (Flex) has 1680 mm (66.14") of X travel and a fixed table next to the rotary table; the MF700 has 820 mm (32.28") of X and the rotary table only. The Flex spindle is listed at 12K ~ 24K and the MF700 at 12K ~ 20K. Y travel, Z travel, tool capacity and maximum work piece size are the same.

02 What tables does the MF700 (Flex) have?

Quaser lists the table size as 700 x 550 / Ø650 mm (27.56" x 21.65 / Ø25.59"): a fixed rectangular table and a round rotary table. Its feature list describes a dual platform design in which the user chooses the rotary or the fixed table.

03 How large a part can the MF700 (Flex) machine in 5 axes?

The maximum swing is Ø700 mm (Ø27.56") and the maximum work piece size is Ø700 x H500 mm (Ø27.56" x H19.69"). Table load capacity is listed as 500 kg (1102.30 lbs).

04 What are the tool limits of the MF700 (Flex)?

The magazine has 48 positions as standard. Tools may be 76.2 mm (3") in diameter, or 125 mm (4.9") when the neighboring pots are empty, and up to 300 mm (11.81") long. The spindle is a 40 taper.
