Quaser HX635 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Quaser HX635 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Quaser or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Quaser HX635 is where the HX horizontal line changes to a 50 taper spindle. It has a 630 mm (24.8") square pallet, a pallet load of 900 kg (1,984 lbs) and travels of 1,000 mm (39.4") in X, 800 mm (31.5") in Y and 900 mm (35.4") in Z.

Quaser builds the argument for this machine on its castings. The base is a one-piece T shape, the column moves, and the table is a one-piece design. The maker's claim is lower deformation and better overhang behavior than a base assembled from several pieces. Whatever weight you give that, the layout fits the job: a moving-column horizontal keeps a heavy pallet on a short, stiff path while the lighter element travels.

The spindle is listed at 6K ~ 10K. No horizontal in Quaser's current range has a lower top end, and it pairs with large tools: 110 mm (4.3") in diameter with every pot occupied, 220 mm (8.7") with the neighbors empty, and 500 mm (19.7") long. This is a machine for boring, heavy face milling and big drills in castings and forgings, not for high-speed finishing.

The standard magazine has 40 positions, fewer than the 60 of the smaller HX504. Maximum work swing is Ø950 mm (Ø37.4"). Two pallets change by an arm type mechanism, and the B axis minimum indexing is given as 1 / 0.001 degrees.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 50 taper spindle with tools up to 220 mm (8.7") in diameter and 500 mm (19.7") long
  • 900 kg (1,984 lbs) pallet load on a 630 mm (24.8") pallet
  • One-piece T shape base, moving column and one-piece table, per Quaser
  • 1,000 mm (39.4") of X travel and 900 mm (35.4") of Z
  • Ø950 mm (Ø37.4") maximum work swing diameter

Limitations

  • Spindle speed is listed at 6K ~ 10K, which rules out high-speed aluminium work
  • 40 tools as standard, fewer than the 60 on the HX504 and HX805
  • Quaser publishes no torque or power for the 50 taper spindle
  • With all pots occupied, tool diameter is limited to 110 mm (4.3")

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the pallet size and load of the Quaser HX635?

The pallet is 630 mm (24.8") square with a load capacity of 900 kg (1,984 lbs). The maximum work swing diameter is Ø950 mm (Ø37.4"). The machine has 2 pallets and an arm type pallet changer.

02 What are the HX635 axis travels?

1,000 mm (39.4") in X, 800 mm (31.5") in Y and 900 mm (35.4") in Z. The B axis minimum indexing is listed as 1 / 0.001 degrees.

03 Is the HX635 a 40 or 50 taper machine?

It is a 50 taper machine, with a maximum spindle speed listed as 6K ~ 10K. The smaller HX504 is the largest 40 taper model in the standard HX range, with a spindle listed at 8K ~ 15K.

04 How does the HX635 compare with the HX805?

The HX805 is the next size up: an 800 mm (31.5") pallet rated for 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs), with travels of 1,200 mm (47.2"), 1,000 mm (39.4") and 1,000 mm (39.4"). The HX635 has a 630 mm (24.8") pallet rated for 900 kg (1,984 lbs). Quaser describes the same one-piece T shape base for both.

05 What size tools can the HX635 use?

Up to 110 mm (4.3") in diameter with adjacent pots filled, up to 220 mm (8.7") with neighboring pots empty, and up to 500 mm (19.7") long. The magazine holds 40 tools as standard.
