Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Quaser HX805 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Quaser's largest horizontal machining center, the HX805, takes an 800 mm (31.5") square pallet loaded to 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs). Travels are 1,200 mm (47.2") in X and 1,000 mm (39.4") in both Y and Z, and the spindle is a 50 taper.
A part can swing Ø1,200 mm (Ø47.2") and stand 1,100 mm (43.3") high. Those two numbers describe gearbox housings, pump bodies, large valve blocks and welded frames: the heavy-industry, energy and shipbuilding work Quaser lists under applications.
One detail sets it apart from the HX635 below it. The HX805 spindle is listed at 6K ~ 15K, while the HX635 tops out at 10K. So the bigger machine has the wider speed choice, and with 60 tool positions as standard against 40, it also has the larger magazine. A buyer who wants one 50 taper horizontal for both heavy boring and lighter, faster milling of large parts has more room to specify it here.
Tools can be 125 mm (4.9") in diameter with a full magazine, 230 mm (9.1") with neighboring pots empty, and 600 mm (23.6") long. Reach of that kind is what line boring through a metre-deep housing asks for. The structure follows the same principles Quaser gives for the HX635: a one-piece T shape base, a moving column and a one-piece table. Two pallets are exchanged by an arm type changer.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs) on an 800 mm (31.5") pallet
- Work pieces up to Ø1,200 mm (Ø47.2") swing and 1,100 mm (43.3") high
- Tool length up to 600 mm (23.6") and diameter up to 230 mm (9.1") with neighboring pots empty
- 60 tools as standard and a spindle range listed as 6K ~ 15K
- 1,000 mm (39.4") of travel in both Y and Z
Limitations
- No torque or power figures are published for a machine whose purpose is heavy cutting
- The published table gives no machine weight or floor space, both needed for foundation planning
- Only two pallets are listed; Quaser's Cell versions with pallet storage are built on the smaller HX404, HX504 and HX505 frames
- A full magazine limits tool diameter to 125 mm (4.9")

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The pallet load capacity is 1,500 kg (3,307 lbs), which includes the fixture. The pallet is 800 mm (31.5") square, the maximum work swing diameter is Ø1,200 mm (Ø47.2") and the maximum work piece height is 1,100 mm (43.3").
02
1,200 mm (47.2") in X, 1,000 mm (39.4") in Y and 1,000 mm (39.4") in Z. The B axis minimum indexing is listed as 1 / 0.001 degrees.
03
The 50 taper spindle is listed with a maximum speed of 6K ~ 15K, a range of spindle options. Quaser's product page does not give power or torque, so the spindle choice needs to be settled with the maker for the materials you cut.
