Quaser HX505 Cell — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Quaser HX505 Cell that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Quaser or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Quaser lists no standalone 50 taper machine with a 500 mm pallet; the size exists only as the Quaser HX505 Cell, a horizontal machining center with 8 or 14 pallets of 500 mm (□19.7") in storage. That makes it an unusual offer: heavy-cut tooling on a mid-size pallet, automated from the start.

The spindle is a 50 taper listed at 6K ~ 10K. Tools can measure 110 mm (4.3") across with every pot occupied and 220 mm (8.7") with the neighbors empty, the same diameters as the much larger HX635. Tool length is limited to 400 mm (15.8"). The standard magazine holds 150 tools.

Each pallet carries 500 kg (1,102 lbs), and a part may swing Ø800 mm (Ø31.5") and stand 740 mm (29.1") high. Travels are 762 mm (30") in X, 640 mm (25.2") in Y and 800 mm (31.5") in Z. The pallet rating is the constraint to watch. A 50 taper spindle can load a part harder than 500 kg (1,102 lbs) of casting and fixture would suggest, so clamping and tombstone stiffness deserve attention.

There is one more difference in the table. B minimum indexing is given as 1 degree for this model, where the 40 taper HX504 Cell is listed at 1 / 0.001. Read literally, the standard table indexes in whole degrees, which suits four-face tombstone work but not contouring around the B axis. Confirm this with Quaser if angled features matter.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 50 taper spindle on a 500 mm (□19.7") pallet with 8 or 14 pallets in storage
  • Tools up to 220 mm (8.7") in diameter with neighboring pots empty, 110 mm (4.3") with a full magazine
  • 150 tool positions as standard
  • Ø800 mm (Ø31.5") work swing, larger than the HX504 Cell
  • Swing type internal changer with matrix type external pallet store

Limitations

  • B minimum indexing is listed as 1 degree, not the 1 / 0.001 of the HX504 Cell
  • Spindle speed listed at 6K ~ 10K limits small tools and aluminium finishing
  • Pallet load of 500 kg (1,102 lbs) is light for 50 taper cutting
  • Tool length of 400 mm (15.8") is shorter than the 450 mm (17.7") of the HX504 Cell
  • No power, torque or cell footprint is published

Best For

Unattended machining of iron and steel castings on 500 mm (□19.7") pallets Construction machinery and automotive parts, as Quaser lists Heavy drilling, boring and face milling in a multi-pallet cell Four-face tombstone work indexed in whole degrees

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What spindle does the Quaser HX505 Cell have?

A 50 taper spindle with a maximum speed listed as 6K ~ 10K. Quaser does not publish its power or torque on the product page. The 40 taper alternative on the same platform is the HX504 Cell, listed at 9K ~ 15K.

02 How many pallets and tools does the HX505 Cell carry?

8 or 14 pallets, held in a matrix type external store and exchanged by a swing type internal changer, and 150 tools as standard. Each pallet is 500 mm (□19.7") and rated for 500 kg (1,102 lbs).

03 What are the travels of the HX505 Cell?

762 mm (30") in X, 640 mm (25.2") in Y and 800 mm (31.5") in Z. The maximum work swing diameter is Ø800 mm (Ø31.5") and the maximum work piece height is 740 mm (29.1").

04 Does the HX505 Cell have a full B axis?

Quaser's table gives B minimum indexing as 1 degree for the HX505 Cell, while the HX504 Cell in the next column is listed at 1 / 0.001. If your parts need angles finer than one degree, raise it with Quaser before ordering.

05 What size tools fit the HX505 Cell?

Maximum tool diameter is 110 mm (4.3") with adjacent pots filled and 220 mm (8.7") with neighboring pots empty. Maximum tool length is 400 mm (15.8").
