Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Quaser HX504 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
With a 500 mm (19.7") square pallet and 762 mm (30") of X travel, the Quaser HX504 is the mid-size 40 taper horizontal in the HX series. Quaser's pitch for the series is short non-cutting time and a stable structure, and it calls these machines compact and high speed.
Z is the long axis: 810 mm (31.9"), against 640 mm (25.2") of Y. That depth is useful in two ways. It lets a long tool, and the magazine takes them up to 450 mm (17.7"), back away far enough to clear a wide tombstone during indexing. And it gives reach into deep housings from the pallet center. The work envelope is a Ø762 mm (Ø30") swing and 900 mm (35.4") of height, with 500 kg (1,102 lbs) on the pallet.
Spindle speed is listed as 8K ~ 15K. That is a lower band than the smaller HX404, which is listed at 12K ~ 20K, and it suggests a machine set up for iron and steel castings as much as for aluminium. The 60-tool standard magazine accepts tools 76.2 mm (3") in diameter, or 150 mm (5.9") with neighboring pots empty.
Two pallets and an arm type changer are standard, and the B axis indexes to a listed minimum of 1/0.001 degrees. Quaser says factory automation equipment is available for higher productivity.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 810 mm (31.9") of Z travel on a 500 mm (19.7") pallet machine
- Tools up to 450 mm (17.7") long and 150 mm (5.9") in diameter with neighboring pots empty
- 60 tool positions as standard
- Ø762 mm (Ø30") work swing with 900 mm (35.4") of work piece height
- Twin pallets with arm type exchange
Limitations
- Spindle speed band of 8K ~ 15K is lower than the 12K ~ 20K of the HX404
- Y travel is 640 mm (25.2"), no more than the HX404, although the height limit is 900 mm (35.4")
- 500 kg (1,102 lbs) pallet load; the 50 taper HX635 carries 900 kg (1,984 lbs)
- Spindle power and torque are missing from the published table
