Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Prima Power Shear Brilliance 1540 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Prima Power Shear Brilliance 1540 (SB1540) handles sheet up to 4,300 mm x 1,565 mm (169.3 x 61.6 in) through punching and right angle shearing in one pass. It is the long version of the Shear Brilliance; the Shear Brilliance 1530 takes 3,100 mm x 1,565 mm.
One row in the technical data belongs to this model alone. The total work area without repositioning, covering loading, punching and shearing, is given for the SB1540 as an X movement of 5,040 mm (198.4 in). So the X axis travels further than the sheet is long, which is what lets the sheet move from the punching position to the shear without being re-clamped.
Speeds are those of the series. Positioning reaches up to 210 m/min, and the hit speed is 1,300 hpm at 1 mm, 580 hpm at 25 mm and 235 hpm at 250 mm. Marking is done at 3,000 hpm. The ram delivers 300 kN (33 US tons), which Prima Power relates to punching complicated contours with one hit.
A four-metre sheet full of rectangular panels is where the shear earns its place: parts are cut loose by the shear, with no skeleton to handle and no nibble marks on the edges. The turret holds up to 600 tools, up to 576 of them index tools, in 24 or 30 station constructions.
As on the shorter model, Prima Power prints no thickness limit for the Shear Brilliance. The machine can be connected to automation that carries material in and parts out; with panels of this size, sorting and stacking should be planned with the machine.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Sheet up to 4,300 mm x 1,565 mm (169.3 x 61.6 in)
- X movement of 5,040 mm (198.4 in) for loading, punching and shearing without repositioning
- Up to 210 m/min positioning and 1,300 hpm at 1 mm
- 24 or 30 station turret with up to 600 tools
- Skeleton-free parts with no nibble marks on the edges
Limitations
- Maximum sheet thickness is not stated on the maker's page
- 580 hpm at 25 mm and 235 hpm at 250 mm: the hit rate drops quickly as the distance grows
- Suited to square and rectangular parts; curved outlines are not sheared
- A long machine with long parts needs automation for part exit

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Prima Power lists a total work area without repositioning, for loading, punching and shearing, with an X movement of 5,040 mm (198.4 in). The row is marked for the SB1540 only.
02
Maximum sheet size is 4,300 mm x 1,565 mm (169.3 x 61.6 in). The Shear Brilliance 1530 is the shorter model at 3,100 mm x 1,565 mm. No thickness limit is printed for either.
03
Ram force is 300 kN (33 US tons). Prima Power links the force to punching complicated contours with one hit. Hit speed reaches 1,300 hpm at 1 mm and 3,000 hpm in marking.
04
Yes. Prima Power says it can be easily connected to automation systems to automatize the material and part flow. Loading takes place in hidden time, which leaves more production time available.
