Overview
The Prima Power Punch Genius 1540 (PG1540) is the long-table version of the Punch Genius servo-electric turret punch press, taking sheet up to 4,300 mm x 1,500 mm (169.3 x 59.1 in) and 8 mm (0.31 in) thick. The shorter PG1530 has its own page.
Two things are chosen at order. The first is the performance level. PG Pure has a maximum ram force of 230 kN (25 US Tons), a maximum hit speed of 700 hpm and an index tool rotation speed of 180 rpm. PG Dynamic raises those to 300 kN (33 US Tons), 1,000 hpm and 250 rpm. The second is the positioning variant, X25 or X30, and on a table this long it deserves as much thought as the performance level.
Positioning speed is 108 m/min for PG Pure / X25, 127 m/min for PG Pure / X30 and for PG Dynamic / X25, and 150 m/min for PG Dynamic / X30. A long sheet of panels with widely spaced holes spends most of its cycle travelling, so X30 can do more for output here than a higher hit rate.
The turret is customized, with a maximum of 400 tools, of which up to 384 can be index tools. Two sheet clamps with central locking are standard, and Prima Power offers an optional third clamp for better grip and support on larger sheets. On 4,300 mm material that option is worth having. Vertically moving brushes protect sensitive surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Sheet length. The Punch Genius 1540 takes a maximum sheet of 4,300 mm x 1,500 mm (169.3 x 59.1 in). Thickness, turret, ram force, hit speed, positioning speed and index speed are listed once for both models on Prima Power's page.
02
It depends on the combination ordered: 108 m/min for PG Pure / X25, 127 m/min for PG Pure / X30, 127 m/min for PG Dynamic / X25 and 150 m/min for PG Dynamic / X30.
03
PG Pure has a maximum ram force of 230 kN (25 US Tons). PG Dynamic has 300 kN (33 US Tons). Prima Power summarises this as 23 ton and 30 ton punching force as standard, depending on the performance selected.
04
Two sheet clamps with central locking and a foot pedal are standard. An optional third clamp is available for better grip and support for larger sheets, which applies to the 4,300 mm sheets this model accepts.
